Title: Haunting in a Winter Wonderland
Series: Haunted Tour Guide Mystery holiday novella
Author: Rose Pressey
Published: November 29, 2019
My Rating: 4 stars
I’ve enjoyed the quirky Paranormal Cozy Mystery series, Haunted Tour Guide Mystery from its beginning. And HAUNTING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND is a fun, short dive back into that series. Light-hearted, a bit of haunting, a few tense moments, and a personality turnaround for one character. I will admit, however, that I did a bit more assuming on the plot in several places than I’m really comfortable with on some points. I could make them tie together by thinking about it, but I really would have liked a bit more obvious connection to be certain I was going in the right direction. I assume that I know who pushed Ripley on the stairs, but I’m not 100% certain that my assumption is correct – that sort of loose end. It didn’t take away from the story for me, but it did interrupt the flow while I put the pieces together. And one could also say that this is a mystery and I’m supposed to have questions and ponder a bit. (shrug)
In all, I had fun back in this world for a quick visit. And if you’ve enjoyed this world in the past then a short holiday-themed story is a perfect way to celebrate with old friends.
