The Blues might be new to Whiskey River, Texas, but these illegitimate sons of the legendary Boots Kelly are no strangers to charisma.

Xander Blue, IT genius, has always been a love ’em and leave ’em kind of guy. But when he meets the CFO of Kelly Boots, beautiful single mom, Bailey Richmond, he knows he’s down for the count.

Bailey Richmond has been there and done that and won’t do it again. In Bailey’s eyes, once a player always a player and she and her son have too much at stake to risk it all on a fling. But dark-haired, blue-eyed, sexy Xander Blue makes her question all her rules.

Xander is determined to prove to Bailey that there’s more between than chemistry. Can a charming millionaire convince a once bitten, forever shy single mom that she wants more than one night with the bad boy?

Read on for my thoughts on One Night with the Bad Boy.  No true spoilers, promise.

Four handsome, sexy brothers ready for love, commitment and a forever woman – what is there not to love about the Whiskey River series.  In the fourth novel in the series we have Xander’s story.  Xander, a handsome man who gets mistaken for his half-brother Trey more than his twin Nick.  Not a player in the strictest meaning of the term, more a man who hasn’t met that one woman… yet.

Bailey would do anything to keep her son, Seth from being hurt.  Including trying to keep the sexy man she’s attracted to and having sex with regularly completely separated from her son.  She sees Xander as a player with a capital “P” and while she enjoys his company, and the lovin’ is good real good, Bailey doesn’t trust Xander to not hurt Seth – or truth be told, to not hurt her either.  While Xander understands her so called rules, he’s never agreed to them – what Bailey thinks is probably a different story.  For a time he was content to let things continue, then a chance meeting with Seth changes his mind – and Xander is about to break every rule Bailey has tossed up between them.

Even though they have said those magical words, “I love you” to each other, the reality of what those words mean is going to come crashing down on them both.  Bailey is about to get a hard life lesson about love – without trust where does love come into a relationship.

One Night with the Bad Boy is an easy going story with two sexy, loveable people who need to be together – it’s just going to take a bit of trust to get to the happy ever after part.  If there is one man who can understand Bailey’s concerns, as well as how her decisions will affect her son, it’s Xander.  It was so enjoyable to see the situation from Xander’s point of view – hell, he and his brother never knew their father, or much about him until the reading of the will that brought them and their two half-brothers together.  So on some level he “got” Bailey – but he also understood Seth, even hurt for the boy knowing the questions he’d have throughout his life.  Yes, these two needed each other.

While you could read this story as a stand alone, it’s so much more satisfying if you pick up the entire series.  Each story has each of the brothers and their ladies in them, but with enough conversation to get you up to date on the entire story line.  Still, I would recommend all of the stories in Whiskey River, simply because they are fantastic, heartfelt, good stories.

*I received an e-ARC of One Night with the Bad Boy from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*
