Story Blurb:

Sadie Pemberton is the DJ at the hottest vampire club in New York City, and she loves her freedom almost as much as she hates werewolves. She has no desire to tie herself to anyone for eternity—even the deliciously sexy Killian Bane—werewolf prince and heir apparent who has been sent to patrol the city.

But Sadie bears the mark of the moon—the mark that Killian has been looking for, the mark that’s meant to reveal his perfect mate. How can the fates be so cruel? Even more importantly, how is he ever going to change her mind?

Read on for my thoughts on Vampires Never Cry Wolf.  No true spoilers, promise.

It must be rather annoying to know that Fate has your mate all picked out for you, the absolutely perfect match.  Then Fate laughs and says – go find them.  To add insult to injury, Fate then shows you that special mark on someone determined to dislike you, if not actively hate you upon sight.  Yeah, thanks Fate.

Killian knew that eventually he’d get around to finding that one woman who bore the mark that would seal his fate.  He had time, so he wasn’t too worried.  But a vamp?  What the hell was the mark doing on a sultry, sexy, stubborn vampire?  He had always assumed that he was looking for another werewolf, not a natural enemy.

Sadie had seen a lot in her two hundred years as a vampire.  But why was an admittedly hot, sexy werewolf hanging out at The Coven.  And even worse, why was she even thinking twice about the annoying man.

The Coven is the one bar in New York City where supernatural being sit next to humans at the bar.  A very popular hot spot, and unique – until Killian announces that he wants to open up another bar – his.  And he’s just hanging around to see how a combined bar works… yeah, right.  *wink*  His interest has nothing to do with the new owner, Sadie.

Vampires and werewolves have a very delicate peace going on at the moment.  It wouldn’t take too much to change that.  Is the fact that the prince of the werewolves sees his mate’s mark on a vampire enough to tip that balance?  Time will tell.

Unfortunately things won’t move smoothly for Sadie and Killian.  The attraction is strong between them and sparks are flying – then along comes a wolf, a pure bitch of a wolf (female dog term-dogs descended from wolves-*innocent smile*) who just happens to see a crown in her own future and a certain werewolf in her bed.

Will Fate prove herself to be a fickle thing or the keeper of promises for this unlikely couple?

I completely enjoyed Vampires Never Cry Wolf.  It was entertaining, sexy and let me care about the characters, and that is a big part of whether a novel becomes a favorite to follow a series or just a good read at the moment.

This is the third novel in the Dead in the City series.  How did I miss this series?  I don’t know either – but thanks to some handy gift cards left over from Christmas I’m heading out to pick up the first two – now.  I’d suggest you do the same.  I would recommend this novel to anyone who loves vampires, werewolves and paranormal romance.  You won’t be disappointed.  I’d give this one a 4 outta 5 on my rating scale.

*I received an e-ARC of Vampires Never Cry Wolf from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*

Sorry Anna – guess I didn’t check comments very well earlier 🙁

This is the first one of this series that I’ve read – but now I’m loaded with the rest so I can start back at the beginning and go forward. 🙂

    Thanks for stopping by.
