Deal with the Texas Soldier is the second title in The Men of Service series, bringing us Reese and Tanner… and a very tumultuous beginning to a romance that will change minds and attitudes and, perhaps, bring two people together for a lifetime.  If they can set aside their stubbornness and competitive natures.  Challenging.

I had such a good time back in Service, Texas, with Reese and Tanner, and a few familiar faces.  Tanner has been through so much.  He left the military after being wounded and dealing with PTSD, as well as the breakup of his marriage.  Divorced, at loose ends, he accepts a friend’s offer to buy half of a bar/restaurant where his skills can be challenged and make a difference.  

Unfortunately, his friend’s granddaughter, Reese, isn’t exactly pleased with this development, as she believed the establishment would one day be hers.  Stubborn meets even more stubborn, as these two butt heads, and deal with a sizzling attraction that neither expected.  Their management styles and plans for the bar/restaurant are miles apart, and eventually, a challenge is issued… winner takes all.  Each expects to win, hands down.  The thing is, if they’d get off their stubborn horses and accept the feelings that are growing between them, they’d both come off as ultimate winners.

Deal with the Texas Soldier by Julie Benson is a charming, fun, well-written romance between a believable couple.  I loved their banter and the one-upmanship they had going.  It’s an instant lust/love to start with, yet it worked for this couple.  If you love your heroines to be sassy and stubborn, or your heroes broken but healing and equally stubborn, then you’d feel right at home in Service, Texas, with Deal with the Texas Soldier.  I’d definitely recommend, and look forward to more adventures in this series.
