I’ve taken part in Musing Monday hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm with another blog of mine. I’ve decided to move some of these meme’s that I take part in around a bit and do a bit of a random blog of mine that takes part each week. I don’t know that I could do it with each of the 3 book blogs I have. But never say never, right?
Random Prompt:
I blogged about ____ this past week…
- various book reviews
- Bloggiesta
- meme’s that I love
- new meme’s to try out
- general thoughts and my own musings
One of the reasons I love book blogging is the amazing people and their blogs that I discover along the way. Not one of us blogs exactly the same way – and isn’t that fantastic? Each person sees the world and books differently, and I enjoy reading how others view this unique world of ours.
THIS WEEK’S RANDOM QUESTION: What is your favorite lesson learned, or quote, from a recent book you’ve read?
I get caught up in dealing with daily life. I am mother to a young man who is a paraplegic due to spinal muscular atrophy. He uses a ventilator to help his breathing and we have around the clock nursing. To say that I am a 24/7/12/365 caregiver would be accurate. I’m his mother, so in my mind, I am always going to be his main helper in life (please let a wife come into the picture one day 🙂 ). It’s not a “feel bad for us” comment it is… our reality. So at times I am very uptight. Extremely might be a better word. So while reading Motorcycle Man by Kristen Ashley I came upon this quote from Tack – it changed how I looked at each day.
”Life’s a roller coaster. Best damn ride in the park. You don’t close your eyes, hold on and wait for it to be over, babe. You keep your eyes open, lift your hands straight up in the air and enjoy the ride for as long as it lasts.”
I work hard each and every day to find something I can enjoy like a roller coaster. So far, it’s been a life changing experience.
I love that quote! So true!

I have to agree – on many levels. Life is to be lived, what’s the point if we never, ever do that?
So now I do things, I might do them afraid, but I still DO them.
Thanks so much for stopping by 🙂
I love that quote, thanks for sharing! 🙂

I have it written on a pretty post-it on my dresser mirror so that I’m reminded of it every single morning.
Thanks for visiting 🙂
Fantastic quote! We should all try to live by that sentiment.

Thanks. It is one that I try very hard to reinforce every single day.

What a good quote and it is good that it has helped you in your situation. Sometimes it is hard to live life but without doing so we deny ourselves and those around us something special.

I have discovered that just because life gets difficult or not what we expected it to be, it’s still the only life we get – so enjoy it to the fullest.

What a great quote. Can’t say I am always thrilled with the roller coaster ride of life either. Hope you are doing well.
Just like that roller coaster, life has it’s ups and downs – but I wouldn’t miss the ride for anything. 🙂
We’re doing well, taking one day at a time.
Thanks for visiting.
