Paul has been in love with Georgina since the moment he laid eyes on her two years before, but he knows he isn’t good enough for her and it can never be. But when he finds out she desperately wants to see a special exhibit in London, he agrees to take her. But can a stolen moment, a stolen kiss and a whispered confession lead to happiness or heartache?
Read on for my thoughts on No Gentleman for Georginia. No true spoilers, promise.
I have loved Paul Abbott from afar ever since first meeting him in The Scoundrel’s Lover, truly he is a wonderful character. He deserves his moment in the spotlight. And in this sweet novella, Paul will find his lady.
Georgina Hickson has followed her father’s dictates for the past four Seasons. She is to find and marry a titled gentleman is his demand, and for years Georgina has followed the rules of engagement required by the Ton. But Georgina has seen what a true love match is like. The obvious love and affection, the truly shared life, the passion – she wants what her best friend Annabelle and her husband, Marcus have – a love to last and worth any risk.
She knows that life could be possible, if only Paul Abbott returned her affection. It doesn’t matter to Georginia that Paul is not titled, she loves him. Now she simply has to find the way to convince him that he loves her too.
Paul Abbott has loved Georginia for almost two years now. He has watched her attend balls and such from afar, his heart breaking a bit more each time he sees her in the company of another eligible, titled bachelor. Paul is a commoner, a working man – while he does have entrance to the homes of members of high society through Annabelle and Marcus, he knows that he can never ask for the hand of the woman he loves. She is too far above him on the social scale to ever think about him.
Yet fate (and a few good friends) has a way of making the impossible – very possible indeed. When Paul makes a way to take Georgina to an exhibit that she wants to see – anything is possible. Georgina is a determined lady. She knows that the feelings she has for Paul are returned… now she will do anything and everything to ensure that they get what they deserve – each other.
I highly recommend No Gentleman for Georgina to anyone who enjoys Historical Romance or fights for the underdog. It is truly a lovely story of love finding a way no matter what.
