Vampires. Werewolves. Beasts that hunt in the night…When New Orleans Detective Jane Hart investigates her first official homicide case, she never expects to have her world ripped apart. But the murder she’s investigating is part of a deadly war between vampires and werewolves…and now Jane is caught in that eternal battle. A battle that can’t end well.

Werewolf Aidan Locke has been running New Orleans for years. It’s his job to keep the vamps out of the city. But when a Master Vampire comes to town, determined to unleash hell, Aidan knows it’s time to fight with all the fury of his pack. Beast versus vamp, until the last breath. Then he meets Jane…

One look, one taste, and Aidan knows that Jane is far more than she seems. Far more than she even knows herself to be. She’s important in the paranormal war, not a pawn to be used, but a queen to be won. And if he can’t keep her at his side, if he can’t stop the darkness from descending on the town…then Jane Hart will become not just a fierce cop, not some guardian, but something deadlier. Darker. Aidan will fight heaven and hell to change her fate. To change their fate because he is more than just a predator.

And Jane is more than prey. Far more.

The world is changing—for the humans and the monsters.

Read on for my thoughts on Bite The Dust.  No true spoilers, promise.

There is a battle brewing on the dark streets of New Orleans, one that humans may only feel the edges of – unless of course, they get caught up as prey.  Jane Hart is facing her first homicide as the detective in charge, she’s got the smarts, the guts and now it’s time to find out if she can handle that other side of New Orleans, that side where monsters live and nothing is as simple as it might seem.  Because nothing on this case makes sense, and nothing is as it seems on the surface.

Aidan Locke didn’t expect Jane to get to him like she did, he’d never before believed in the mate thing but there was something between them.  Jane didn’t trust this werewolf, and fight as hard as she liked against the attraction she felt for him – she needed his expertise, his knowledge and if she admitted it, she just needed him.  There are rumors swirling around the underbelly of New Orleans, rumors of the one who would bring about the end.  And Jane was running out of time to catch a killer, a monster and save herself, as well as the man she loved.

With plot twists and turns, Bite The Dust will take you on an amazing ride through the netherworld of one of the most legendary cities in America.  There is something unique about Jane, and we will slowly learn what that is – through a lot of monster attacks, ancient master vampire stalkings and the attention of the city’s werewolf enforcer.  Aidan and Jane have a hot and sexy relationship, and neither one is what the other expected in their lives.  Their story will go beyond this first book.  And yes, there is a wrap up and a happy ending, for the moment – their journey is truly just beginning.

I enjoyed Bite The Dust very much, it is gritty, sexy and fast paced throughout.  With plenty of plot twists and turns to satisfy any reader, this is one heck of a ride.  I would not hesitate to recommend this one for any Paranormal Romance reader who loves mystery, suspense and maybe just the edge of a horror story along with a captivating couple who may not have planned on each other but they are one solid unit now.

*I received an e-ARC of Bite The Dust from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*

      Thank you! 🙂

I really enjoyed Jane and Aidan’s story. There are three (so far) stories in the Blood and Moonlight series – Better Off Undead and Bitter Blood releases on April 12th. I’ll have reviews up on those in the next few weeks – time, never enough time. 🙂

But I would definitely say – go, pick it up and enjoy. It is a great story.

And thanks for stopping by and commenting, it’s appreciated.
