Our Bridal Shop by Danielle Blair

Posted January 24, 2019 by Marsha in Contemporary Romance, Series / 0 Comments

Every family has its secrets, and the March family is no exception.

For the March sisters, Match Made in Devon, the bridal shop opened and run by their parents, was a real-world representation of what true love was all about. But for eldest sister Alexandra, that kind of perfection has always seemed unreachable.

Alex has spent over fifteen years in Boston, building up an impenetrable shell of confidence and taking control over her own destiny. If there’s anything missing from her life, it isn’t important anyway. But with her mother’s unexpected death Alex is forced to leave her life in the big city behind and return to her hometown of Devon…and a past she’s been running from for years.

As the March sisters try to salvage the bridal shop their parents loved, Alex is forced to confront her painful past and the real reason she left Devon so many years ago…including childhood sweetheart Jonah Dufort.

Jonah represents everything Alex has tried to forget and conceal. But sometimes secrets demand to be revealed, and when the past returns again in the form of a long-lost sister, it’s a shocking reminder to Alex that even a perfect marriage can have something to hide.

With her world falling apart around her, Alex loses control of the perfect life she has built for herself. Now, the only thing that Alex can be certain of is that things will never be the same.

Bound by fate, three sisters will have to redefine the meaning of family and discover the raw power of forgiveness and love.

The Rancher’s Unexpected Baby by Leslie North

Posted January 24, 2019 by Marsha in Modern Western Romance, Series / 0 Comments

To Maxwell Cooper’s great pleasure, his horses of quality Quarab stock have been well received by American buyers. His goal of selling to the Arab royal family would give his breeding business international credibility and prove that he wasn’t the bad apple everyone had assumed. After missing his opportunity at auction two years in a row, he’s been invited to back to back VIP sales and word on the street is that the royal family is going to be in attendance. And nothing will stop him from keeping his eye on the prize this time.

Lena Fudge had been traveling the circuit as a newbie horse trader but found herself fired after she passed along a hot tip while having hot sex with Maxwell Cooper. Now disgraced, she finds herself back in her family’s home in the middle of nowhere horse country. Learning she’s pregnant adds insult to injury, and despite her best efforts, she’s fulfilling her family’s curse of living at home. She knows she has to tell Maxwell about the baby, but she refuses to ask for his help until she has her ducks in a row. That is until she runs into Maxwell at the auction stables after being rejected from a last-ditch attempt to get her old job back.

Maxwell has been dreaming of Lena since their night of passion four months ago. One look at her, and being pretty sure he was the one to pop her cherry, he realizes he’s the father. But Maxwell knows Lena’s pride would not allow him to take care of her, so he asks her to work with him as a horse trader. It’s not charity. As it turns out, Lena is the full package. She’s a dream in the stables, amazing with buyers, and not adverse to a roll in the hay. But when things begin to go deeper than just a sale or sex, they’ll find themselves racing toward a bidding war that will either have them living a life of love or losing it all.

Titles in the Brothers of the Cooper Ranch series include — The Cowboy’s Forgetful Bride – The Rancher’s Unexpected Baby – The Cowboy’s Stubborn Sweetheart

She’s rebuilt her life and has a classroom full of fifth-graders to love, which is more than enough even though her father doesn’t agree. When he sets her up on a blind date, she only goes to humor him — never dreaming that the man she meets will tempt her to break her one rule.

In theory, Ethan Masters is not opposed to the wife, kids, and house with a white picket fence. But he loves his career as a K-9 handler in the air force, and a dream promotion dangles before him like dog tags. While contemplating his future, he accepts a drunken bet for a blind date, never dreaming that the captivating woman fits perfectly into his ideal, all-American dream. Only one problem. She’s gun-shy about all things military.

January 2019 “24 in 48” Readathon is this Coming Weekend!

Posted January 23, 2019 by Marsha in Discussion Post / 2 Comments

I often do Readathons, unofficially, mainly because as the caregiver of a disabled child I cannot always block out time where I’m going to be able to dedicate myself to nothing but reading.  Yet with the “24 in 48 Readathon” coming up this weekend, the rules are a bit more flexible and may fit my needs better than some other Readathons.

Out of the 48 house in one weekend, find 24 hours (wherever they may fall) to read.  It really is that simple… and do-able for many readers.  So this time I’m tossing in my reading nook officially and we’ll see how well I actually clocked the hours by Sunday at 11:59.  I’m hoping to make the 24 hours, but if I don’t it was still a fun experience.

You can find the official sign-up page and information here.

Lately, I’ve been using the weekends as a time to do some binge-reading, catch up on series, do a few scheduled posts for the blogs so that I can keep on track better… the “24 in 48 Readathon” fits well into what I’m already doing.

As to what books — I have a Contemporary Romance series and a Western Historical Romance series that I want to get caught up on and do some postings.  I’m not sure yet which it will be… but I’ll list the titles here in an update as I finish them.  That seems easiest for me.

If this sounds like something you’d like to do, then check out the information and the sign-up page through the graphic or word links above.  Good luck, and happy readathon!

Pondering Thoughts #1

Posted January 19, 2019 by Marsha in Discussion Post / 0 Comments

A friendship has died through lies or betrayal.

Is that person an ass because they’ve hurt you?

… or were they always an ass and you’re just now seeing clearly.

I don’t know the answer – but it is a thought for today.

There’s just one hitch: stubborn and moody carpenter Tucker Malone. He’s got a half interest in the Magnolia Inn, and he’s planting his dusty cowboy boots squarely in the middle of her dream.

Ever since his wife’s death, Tucker’s own guilt and demons have left him as guarded as Jolene. The last thing he expects is for his new partner to stir something inside him he thought was gone forever. And as wary as Jolene is, she may have found a kindred spirit—someone she can help, and someone she can hold on to.

Restoring the Magnolia Inn is the first step toward restoring their hearts. Will they be able to let go of the past and trust each other to do it together?

Bella Whitmore is the heir to the Whitmore Shipping fortune. Refusing to be pigeon-holed into the socialite box, Bella has worked her entire life to show her father that she can be the son he never had and take over the Whitmore Shipping Empire. So when she wakes up, on a ranch in Montana, missing the memories of the last month of her life, you’d think that would be the worst case scenario. And it is…until she realizes the devil she’d worked so hard to avoid for the last year is now her husband.

Sawyer Cooper knows he’s a devil. Handsome, charismatic, and with an eye for feeding people’s vices, Sawyer’s reinvented himself as a shark in the business world, but very few realize that he’s actually a Cooper of the Country Coop fortune. Every bit as beautiful as her name suggests, and smarter than everyone else in the room, Sawyer knows that she could make his dreams come true, both inside and outside of the bedroom. And after a year of pursuing her, she’s finally said yes — to everything.

But after a horseback riding accident, Bella’s brain has reset back to the beginning, and Sawyer was never good at starting a game over. Especially not after he’d already won.
