His family’s legacy… Is their chance at love

Desperate for work, jockey Tamara Vaughn reluctantly agrees to train horses at the revered Blackwell Stables. She can’t escape its connection to a smaller outfit in Texas, where her career veered off course, and her romantic feelings went unnoticed.

Widowed horse breeder Nathan Blackwell never expected to work with Tamara again after the tragedy with his prized horse—but a doping scandal back home in Gold Finch, Kentucky, has left the ranch with few options.

As they’re forced to team up, an undeniable chemistry builds, especially as Tamara helps his twin boys find their stride in bluegrass country. With her reputation and the ranch’s future riding on an emotionally charged, high-stakes race, can she and Nathan also dare to become something more?

Titles in the multi-author The Bluegrass Blackwells series include:  A Cowboy to Call Her Own by Cari Lynn Webb ~ A Cowboy to Remember by Melinda Curtis ~ A Cowboy To Come Home To by Carol Ross ~ A Cowboy in Uniform by Amy Vastine ~ A Cowboy by Christmas by Anna J. Stewart ~

This is a no-spice romance, perhaps with closed-door or fade-to-black scenes. Tension and kisses might be involved.

Title:  A Cowboy to Remember
Series:  The Bluegrass Blackwells #2
Author:  Melinda Curtis
Published:  August 25, 2026
Publisher:  Harlequin Heartwarming
My Rating:  4.5 stars

A Cowboy to Remember is the second title in the multi-author series, The Bluegrass Blackwells.  Oh, the Blackwells… how I have loved this extended family over the years, especially Big E, and continuing the tradition of bringing even more Blackwells into the family fold really captured my heart.  I’ve got to catch up on this newer series, but it’s no chore at all when the stories are this good and engaging.

Tamara has reluctantly agreed to work at the Blackwell Stables; she’s desperate for work, but her history with a past issue, and one man in particular, has her on edge.  She’ll give her best, but that past still haunts her.  Nathan has been estranged from his family; now this widower is bringing his young twin sons, T.J. and Zeke, to a new home with so many questions in his head… and emotions in his heart.  An underlying series arc deals with a horse-doping situation that may connect to both the present and the past.  That won’t be solved until the final book, but the information gathered and the resolution of that situation build book by book.  Have I mentioned that I love Big E?  This man is bigger than life, and his heart is even bigger.  I always smile when he gets up to his shenanigans.

A Cowboy to Remember completely captured my heart.  It’s well-written, funny, witty, emotional, with an underlying sense of suspense and danger.  I adored Nathan’s boys, loved their interactions with Tamara and their mischievous ways with Big E.  Nathan and Tamara have a lot to unload and deal with in their relationship.  Watching them work together to slowly build a far different relationship that can last was a delightful journey.  I had so much fun back with the Blackwell family; I can’t wait for more.  If that sounds like your kind of Romance, then you’d love this one.
