They’re worlds apart… Can love bridge the gap?

Paleontologist Meg Farrell’s real life is twelve hundred miles away from her hometown in the Colorado Rockies.

But every time she returns to Bent Fork, she’s reminded how much of an outsider she still feels like—her whole family treats her as if she’s too fragile for ranch work.

But neighboring rancher Joe Hawk sees not only how capable she is but also how smart and kind she is.

When they rescue an injured dog together, she’s reminded of why she fell for him all those years ago…and the danger of repeating old mistakes.

Yet Hawk might be the one piece of history Meg can’t leave in the past.

~Standalone~

This is a no-spice romance, perhaps with closed-door or fade-to-black scenes. Tension and kisses might be involved.

Title:  A Rocky Mountain Reunion
Series:  Standalone
Author:  Debra Moser
Published:  March 31, 2026
Publisher:  Harlequin Heartwarming
My Rating:  4.5 stars

I enjoyed A Rocky Mountain Reunion so much.  It’s a standalone title, but I wouldn’t mind at all returning to Bent Fork to learn more about some of the secondary characters (yes, I do have a sequel/series wish list).  Meg is a paleontologist whose work is far away from her family home.  She doesn’t come home often, mainly because of the way her family treats her, like she cannot stand on her own two feet or handle the rough times.  It’s their loss for she is so much more than her family believes, but she keeps on hoping that one day they’ll see the real Meg, not some helpless, fragile female always in need of… whatever.

The one person who does see her worth is her neighbor, Hawk, whom she’s had a crush on for, well, forever.  (Spoiler alert: he has a crush on her too. *smiles)  Two things (at least) are going to change the situation for this couple: finding a dog who desperately needs rescuing and some tender loving care, and discovering fossils on Hank’s property, which excites Meg’s professional instincts.  Those hidden crushes are about to develop into full-blown love… with decisions to be made for them both.

A Rocky Mountain Reunion is well-written, emotional, faith-based, character-driven, and full of laughter and tears, and possibilities for both Meg and Hawk.  I loved seeing Meg realize her own worth outside of anyone else’s opinion.  She’s stronger than she even believed, and with Hawk at her side, supporting her decisions, she’s fearless.  If that’s the kind of romance that you enjoy, then you’re going to love Meg and Hawk’s story.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley, and I sincerely thank the author or publishing house for their trust. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
