Snowflakes, Secrets & a Royal Surprise

Every December, Dani Posner swaps her desk job for painting festive Main Street windows in her cozy hometown. In the hushed snowy nights, she lives her dream of being a full-time artist, if only for a few fleeting weeks. And then a literal run-in with a charming stranger leaves her heart skipping and her lips tingling…

Oliver isn’t just any handsome passerby. He’s a prince, hiding from duty and his family. Apprenticing at a bakery in the small town is his last hurrah before he’s forced back into a royal life he didn’t choose—and a proposal he hasn’t agreed to.

As stolen moments and whipped cream-fueled kisses turn serious, he encourages Dani to chase her artistic dreams. But his royal identity doesn’t stay hidden. When the truth comes out, it threatens their romance, his family ties, and it even complicates his secret plan to help save her hometown.

This Christmas, love may be the biggest surprise of all to unwrap—and the fairy tale ending neither of them imagined.

A (Secret) Prince for Christmas is a standalone title.

Title:  A (Secret) Prince for Christmas

My Rating:  4.5 stars

A (Secret) Prince for Christmas is a standalone title.  Oh, how I love a prince (or princess) in hiding romance!  Oliver is a prince who has convinced his mother that he needs just a bit of time in the real world before taking on the responsibilities of his heritage… and a woman he really does not want to marry for the crown.  He found the perfect spot in this small town where he is apprenticed as a baker, a passion he enjoys but rarely can indulge in.  His hidden life is about to become a bit more complicated… by one woman, and a love that will face down a queen to get a happy ending for all.

Every year, Dani exchanges her job in the city, the one that completely lacks any spirit, and heads home to do the one Christmas thing that lets her passion explode in color and merriment.  She’s a talented artist who creates beautiful Christmas scenes in her small hometown’s shop windows.  Art is her passion, her dream… a chance meeting with a prince in hiding might just change everything.

I enjoyed A (Secret) Prince for Christmas by Christi Barth so very much.  It’s a classic Christmas trope of the royal hidden identity… and it’s a trope because it works, beautifully, charmingly, and full of Christmas magic, which I crave this time of year.  Dani and Oliver’s story is well-written, emotional, and engaging throughout their growing romance.  I loved the secondary characters, and can only hope that (maybe next Christmas or sooner) one royal bodyguard has his fondest wishes with a certain lady come true.  I had such a good time with this story. If you love your Christmas Romance full of laughter, issues to be dealt with, believable characters, and charm enough to dust any Christmas tree with magic, then you’d love this one.
