After his marriage fails, single father Ryder Sinclair returns to his hometown with his young son to care for his ailing mother.

He’s surprised to run into his teenage crush, Kendall Hunt, whose career as a professional chef has been shaken by scandal.

As the two work together to save an Easter event usually hosted by Ryder’s mother, Kendall finds herself longing for this sense of family with Ryder and little Shepard.

But when she has a chance to go back to the life she once knew, will she choose the dream she’s spent years chasing…or the new dream that has taken hold of her heart?

Titles in the Legacy Ranch series include:  Their Texas Christmas Redemption* ~ A Texas Easter Blessing** ~ The Pastor’s Christmas Prayer ~

(While not listed as part of this series on Amazon, I was first introduced to the Legacy Ranch through a K-9 Companion titleAn Unexpected Companion)

This is a no-spice romance, perhaps with closed-door or fade-to-black scenes. Tension and kisses might be involved.

Title:  A Texas Easter Blessing
Series:  Legacy Ranch #2

My Rating:  4.5 stars

A Texas Easter Blessing is the second (or the third, if you consider Unexpected Companion from the K-9 Companion line as the beginning) title in the Legacy Ranch series.  Yet, no matter where this story lands within the series, you’re going to find a heartfelt, faith-based romance as two people who have very good reasons for their cautious attitude renew a connection that will show them that there are always possibilities unseen if you trust, have faith, and are willing to take a few risks with your heart.

Kendall is returning home after a devastating personal and career situation.  Blackballed in her industry after daring to leave a restaurant where the chef made inappropriate advances toward her, and then turned the truth into a lie, blaming her for misconduct, Kendall is back where she started… home.  At the time, coming home was her only choice, but perhaps that decision will lead to a future she never envisioned.

Ryder is also returning home with his young son, Shepard.  After a painful divorce where his ex-wife valued her career over her husband and son, he’s looking for a fresh start.  Helping Kendall is the right thing to do; it’s as instinctive as breathing.  When his mother is unable to host an annual Easter event due to fighting a life-threatening illness, Ryder and Kendall will step in to save the event… and perhaps save each other from heartache as well.

I enjoyed A Texas Easter Blessing so much.  It’s well-written, emotional, faith-based, and filled with laughter and tears, realities and possibilities.  Watching Kendall and Ryder lower their defensive walls enough to allow each other in was an emotional journey.  I adored Shepard; this little one stole scenes without even trying.  Sometimes the goals of the past no longer fit who we’ve become, and Kendall has some tough decisions to make.  I loved watching them face each challenge with faith and hope.  If that sounds like your kind of inspirational romance, then you’d love this one.
