A Tylerville Soldier is the fourth title in the Touched by Tylerville series, bringing us Laurel and Dan’s second-chance romance.  Years ago, Laurel thought she had everything she could have ever desired, until it all came crumbling down when the man she loved left her, pregnant and alone.  Today, she’s dealing with her mother’s illness, her daughter’s rebellion, and barely holding her life together.  Suddenly, Dan is back in her life, and nothing will be the same again.

If you love a well-written second-chance romance that is full of every emotion you could possibly think of, and a couple that feels real as they navigate their past and possibly their future, then you’d enjoy A Tylerville Soldier by Day and Dre Leclaire.  Far more than a second chance at getting love right, this couple will have to go through the anger, the grief, the lost time that can never be recaptured.  Life is often messy, and Laurel and Dan prove that quite realistically.  My heart broke for both of them, and for a teenager who doesn’t yet understand how life can toss you curves, but you keep on living in spite of the pain.  And a mother, facing a health challenge, who made a choice for her daughter years ago, must finally acknowledge how she interfered in lives changed forever by her decision.

I have not yet read the entire Touched by Tylerville series, but I didn’t feel the least bit lost in Dan and Laurel’s story.  What I needed to know was provided in the narrative or in the dialogue.  In all, I enjoyed myself here with a story that not only touched my heart but also left me wondering how I would react in their situation.  If that’s you’re kind of story, then you’d enjoy this one.
