Hope figures this is exactly the experience she needs. Not only is she planning to open a day care, but she’s expecting her first baby—her late husband’s child.
As tensions rise over his development plans, Curtis and Hope grow closer—and they must decide if the heart of the town’s future might just lie in the growing love between them.
Titles in the Amish Antiques Shop series include: Her Amish Country Husband ~ An Amish Country Lullaby ~
This is a no-spice romance, perhaps with closed-door or fade-to-black scenes. Tension and kisses might be involved.

An Amish Country Lullaby is the second title in the Amish Antiques Ship series, this time featuring Hope and Curtis’ emotional journey toward combining a dream for their small town’s development… and a possible future family for them. But before any of that can become a reality, Hope has to deal with the loss of her husband shortly after discovering she was pregnant with their child. Even though Hope loves her two sisters, they don’t always see eye to eye. Having them with her when she received such devastating news and supporting her as she processes the grief and changes in her life was a blessing she cannot discount. She’ll also have to come to terms with the relationship she had with her deceased husband, only now fully realizing just how dependent she’d become on him. Now she has to make a different future for herself and her child… a frightening yet exhilarating prospect.
Curtis has always been a fixer. He has a plan that could revitalize and enhance this small town if he can get both the Amish and English residents on the same page with him… without causing distress or minimizing either culture in the process. He has a good track record, but this is not going to be as easy as it appears on the surface. Add to the stress one adorable toddler, his daughter Lucy, and a very full plate, well, Hope’s offer to watch over Lucy is the answer to a prayer. Doing so will also help Hope do a “dry run” on the realities of opening a day care, as her new business is a definite plus. Neither expected the spark of attraction between them. Neither is really sure how to move forward from the past… for both of them.
I loved An Amish Country Lullaby so much. If you’ve never read an Amish romance and have wondered about them, then this series would be an excellent way to take a peek into the Amish world, where you’d see the Amish viewpoint as well as the English mixing together. Hope and Curtis’ romance read so realistically for me. There are questions from the past, a shaky future, and children to mix into the possibility of a future together. While completely possible, blending families isn’t always smooth sailing, especially when their relationship happened so soon after Hope became a widow; there will be questions and concerns. I was glad to see those realities factor into this couple’s romance. There are so many small gems to be enjoyed in this story, blending joy and sadness, faith and acceptance, and an acknowledgment of possibilities, no matter how difficult the journey has been. These are all reasons I love Patricia Johns’ work. Their story is well-written, emotional, truly clean, and full of possibilities. I’m definitely looking forward to the next story in this series.
