Once upon a fixer-upper…
A handsome handyman arriving without warning to renovate down-on-her-luck aerialist Piper’s rented theater throws her into a spin—she can’t afford anyone finding out she’s living backstage.
Only Kellen is no ordinary contractor: He’s a billion-dollar tycoon with a tool belt!
Thanks to a lifetime of letdowns, he doesn’t believe in happily-ever-after…but Piper’s idealistic charm makes him wish he did.
And as their chemistry erupts right under the stage lights, can he really keep his well-built walls up?

My Rating: 4.5 stars
Backstage Night with the Billionaire begins the Love Under Construction series with a delightful romance between Piper, an aerialist who is currently renting a theater from an unscrupulous landlord (and living there as well). And Kellen, a billionaire who is fully capable of building repairs, may be the boss of his contracting business, but he still wears a tool belt with flair.
Unfortunately, Kellen’s company has signed a non-disclosure agreement with the landlord, which means he cannot tell Piper that her jerk of a landlord is only fixing up the theater in hopes of selling it out from under her… quickly, and without her knowledge. Which leads to their growing attraction being fraught with misunderstandings, slanting the truth as far as possible, and possibly hurting the woman Kellen has come to care so much about, much to his surprise.
Their romance is well-written, full of laughter and tears, misconceptions, and the acceptance of each other’s uniqueness, as they open their hearts to possibilities. I enjoyed myself very much and look forward to the next story in the series.
