My Rating:  4.5 stars

Annie and Theo have a complicated, fiery history.  One that might have been firmly in the past if Annie hadn’t needed an investor for her father’s/family business, and if she hadn’t swallowed her pride to ask Theo for help.  Help, he was quite willing to give… on his conditions only.  Marriage.  Revenge.  Everything.

Blackmail to White Veil is an intense enemies-to-lovers, second-chance romance that pits two people who, despite their breakup and their attitude toward each other today, still cling to the love they once shared, a love that neither had forgotten nor, in Theo’s point of view, ever forgiven.  Frankly, it was easy to see each other’s views on that disastrous breakup years ago.  In my opinion, they were both right on some points and wrong on others.  I get why Theo felt the way he did.  He’s a man who rarely gives any quarter; he’s serious, focused, and determined. That’s how he’s gotten to the level of wealth and influence he holds today.  Annie still boils in his blood, but admitting there is still love there will be a very hard thing for this proud man to do.

Their story is well-written, passionate, and so emotional.  I enjoyed this one, and actually, found it difficult to come down on either’s side… they both messed up, they both made mistakes, and they both still want each other. Watching walls fall, particularly Theo’s pride, was amazing to experience.  He is, in fact, very stubborn, so the facts sort of had to hit him upside the head, but that’s okay; he came through in the end.  If that sounds like your kind of romance, then you’d enjoy Blackmail to White Veil.
