Cover Description:
Anna Frost had a bad feeling when her twin sister, Liz, told her she’d run off with a member of the notorious Otherworld biker gang, the Blood Ravagers. And her unease skyrockets when her sister subsequently vanishes. The police have no authority and little interest, so Anna decides to take matters into her own hands by infiltrating the group to discover for herself what happened to Liz, where she meets….
Dante, half demon, half human. A mix of two worlds, accepted by neither, he’s had no choice but to learn the hard way how to play whatever side of the fence kept him alive during his nearly 500 years of existence. Now, as second-in-command of the Blood Ravagers biker gang, his survival depends on keeping his humanity a secret. Dante’s ultimate goal is to fulfill the vows he made over two centuries ago to create a world where half-breeds can live in safety and equality.
But when sheltered schoolteacher Anna finds unexpected, white-hot passion in the arms of Dante, will her quest for the truth cost him more than he ever bargained for? Or will they find a way to save Liz – and their love – together?
Titles in this series include: Blood Bound – Blood Freed – Blood Vowed
Blood Bound is a good story – for me – unfortunately, it didn’t go beyond that “good” story feeling into the “I can’t put this down” type of book. The reason is very simple – I could not connect or like the main characters… and that matters. That’s not to say that I’m giving up on the series. I will pick up the next two stories scheduled for the Blood Ravagers series and see where it takes me. I’m not a reader who will toss out the entire series because one book didn’t capture me. *sigh* And I really wanted Blood Bound to capture me.
You have the basics of this story in the Cover Description. What you don’t get there, although it’s hinted at, is that there is a lot of sex in this story. As well as light to moderate BDSM. Now I do not have a problem with kink… some readers do, and they should be aware of that particular button going into the story.
Like I said, it’s a good story. Anna has some secrets of her own, she’s reluctant to tap into her own powers and she has issues. She spent so much energy over the years blocking the mental connection she had with her twin, that when she needs it… it’s gone. Dante is driven with his own unique secrets as well. He is sexy as sin, which should be his middle name, and not afraid to use it to get exactly what he wants. And the sex is gonna heat up your e-reader, that’s for sure.
There is an audience who will enjoy this story, usually I’d be among them but this time it simply didn’t work for me. You have to make that decision for your own reading preferences. There’s more to come in this series and I’ll be following it. The premise of the series is good, and for that I’ll keep giving it a chance.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this novel. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this story.*
