Cover Description:

Like his ancestors, Iain Campbell, the Marquess of Kerr, swears loyalty to whichever government happens to be in power. Privately, however, he despises the British for the slaughter following the Battle of Culloden and finds himself playing a dangerous game of deception. When he defends a fellow Scot under cloak of darkness, Iain is wounded and must put his life in the hands of a mysterious healer. The prickly, bewitching woman saves him with her touch, though she denies Iain the pleasure of a smile from her sensuous lips—which only makes him want her all the more.

Cait Campbell has no fondness for the marquess and his political machinations. Now he makes a treacherous patient, since Cait is harboring Jacobite fugitives in her cellar. But with Iain confined to bed rest, Cait sees another side of the fierce warrior. How can she hate a man whose eyes sparkle in candlelight, a man whose voice stirs her soul? She soon discovers that he loves the Scottish people deeply—and, despite her painful intuitions, Cait is tempted to let Iain love her, too.

Titles in this series include:  Sutherland’s Secret – MacLean’s Passion -Campbell’s Redemption

Ian Campbell is playing both sides of the coin in a very dangerous, deceptive fashion.  Wounded while helping a fellow countryman, he seeks healing from the one woman who he knows despises him, but he has little choice.  Cait has suffered such loss in her life that now she’s filled with such hatred and a need to help those that she can through her healing touch or hiding them as they move onto safety in another country.  When Ian shows up needing her assistance she has hidden refugees on the property, and the last thing she needs is this man in her home.  But she also has little choice.

What we are at our core isn’t always worn on the sleeve.  Ian and Cait each will see a different side of each other as Ian heals.  Cait’s stubbornness and determination will land her in trouble.  Ian will step in to save her while placing himself in grave danger.

Campbell’s Redemption will give us a different look at a man who has become almost legend throughout this series.  There will be backstabbing, misunderstandings, attraction which will blossom into love if they both can survive.  Cait and Ian make an interesting couple, their many assumptions about the other lead to an intense emotional feel to their beginning.

After the build up of Ian in the first and second novels in this series, I found his story to be… not what I expected.  Campbell’s Redemption is a good story, don’t misunderstand, that’s why the 3 star rating it is good but not what I had anticipated reading.  If you’ve followed this series then I would recommend that you read this one for yourself and make your own decision.
