Amelia will trust her body to a man, but never her heart. Unfortunately for her, Dane wants both.

Amelia Sutton isn’t interested in being a hero. She’s just a witch who wants to live a normal, happy life. But that life is under threat from Malleus – a practitioner of magic so dark it could bring down the world.

To protect her home and those she loves from Malleus, Amelia must perform a dangerous ritual to increase her power. Unfortunately for her, that means spending the night with a man already too close to stealing her heart and jeopardizing her no-risk future.

As a Watchtower Knight, Dane is sworn to defend and protect Dahnan Witches. His sense of duty and loyalty has always come first, and despite his feelings for Amelia, he knows she’s not meant for him. But when Amelia asks him to join with her in an ancient binding ritual, he dares to believe they may have a chance at love after all.

Read on for my thoughts on Caught by Air.  No true spoilers, promise.

The Watchtower Chronicles is a series that I’ve enjoyed and really didn’t want to see come to a conclusion – yet one can always hope for a loose thread or a spin-off, right?

Caught by Air is a captivating, entertaining and definitely steamy love story with more than a touch of magic and danger.  I suppose, realistically, that this novel could be read as a stand alone story, there is enough mention of the earlier events through dialog or description to give you an idea of what has happened – enough to not be totally lost.  Yet I believe when you’re reading Fantasy or Paranormal it helps immensely to know the whole story from the start – but that is merely my opinion.

Amelia was badly burned emotionally by what she considered a love experience.  It wasn’t love, but until Amelia knows what real love is she will continue to shy away from that particular commitment.  For now she’s quite happy to have the physical enjoyments of a relationship without the messy emotional ties.  Yet in order to complete the ritual and increase her powers she needs the connection she knows she will only find with Dane, a Watchtower Knight.  Dane will protect all of the Dahnan Witches with his very life but Amelia has a special place in his heart.  Oh, he knows that there is no place for him in her world but that doesn’t stop the desire or the need for more.  When Amelia asks Dane to take part in the ritual with her in order to gain her powers and prevent Malleus from entering and tearing apart the world, she has no idea of what she is really asking of him.  He will do anything for her, even this, but she must go into it knowing full well that he will hold nothing back from her – and he expects all of her to be given freely to him, and that includes her emotions.

If you love fantasy, paranormal romance, fast action, steamy and sizzling hot love scenes – and seeing true love finally take hold in one  strong, stubborn woman’s heart… then you’ll love Caught by Air.  The entire series has been a delight to get lost in, and should you take the risk on this story before the others I’m pretty certain that you’ll be backtracking to pick up the earlier books as well.  It truly is an amazing journey.

*I received an e-ARC of Caught by Air from the publisher, Momentum Books-Moonlight and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*
