Still, he won’t be playing host. Work has been his refuge from grief; he will not tolerate any distractions…

Title:  CEO’s Spanish Fling
Series:  Cinderellas in Seville #1
Author:  Justine Lewis
Published:  April 28, 2026
Publisher:  Harlequin Romance
My Rating:  4.5 stars

CEO’s Spanish Fling begins the Cinderellas in Seville multi-author series with a delightful romance between unlikely people that starts as an offer to help a deceased friend’s girlfriend and blossoms into something far more for Teo and Cara.  Ten years ago, Cara’s boyfriend, Pablo, died in a tragic accident.  He was Teo’s best friend, and the loss has devastated them both in different ways.  Cara’s work as a translator has her returning to Seville, and when a medical emergency has her in the hospital and in need of care, to her surprise, Teo shows up in her hospital room offering a place to stay… temporarily.  Neither expected what fate had in store for them.

Each is still dealing with grief over Pablo’s death, and Cara has some additional triggers due to a family betrayal.  Neither trusts the other easily as their relationship had always been… “off” in the past.  To their mutual surprise, attraction flares between them as Cara and Teo share a home while she recovers.  Both are tempted to see those sparks as a temporary fling, yet both are feeling far more than they expected.  A few risks will need to be taken with trust and their hearts before they can find that happily-ever-after kind of future.

I enjoyed the CEO’s Spanish Fling, and if there were a few times when I wanted to reach into the story and give Teo a good shaking… well, that’s on me, but he could be one very stubborn man!  Both have issues that really need to be dealt with before any future is realistically possible.  Watching them work through those issues, learn to trust not only each other but themselves, was a delightful, emotional journey.  Their story is well-written, emotional, and an excellent start to the series.  If you enjoy your romance a bit, well, complicated, then you’d enjoy Cara and Teo’s romance.
