Christmas Security is the sixteenth title in the Bachelor Bodyguards series in the Harlequin Romantic Suspense imprint. The Bachelor Bodyguards (all work for the Payne Protection Agency) is a long series, and I’ve read several of them (working my way through them all slowly). I’ve enjoyed this series; each can easily be read as a standalone with a connection.
Priscilla and Blade certainly added to that overall enjoyment of a suspenseful series that I hope doesn’t stop any time soon. It’s hard to believe that it’s been a decade (Dec. 2015) since this series started. Proof that the good ones last.
Priscilla is the widow of an older, wealthy doctor whose extended family lives at the mansion she’s inherited. A research doctor herself, Priscilla is pregnant (through IVF), and determined to protect her deceased husband’s legacy, their unborn child (and his work) from his mostly greedy, money-grabbing, vile family, who, for the most part, believe his vast fortune and fame… belongs to only them. There have been threats, attempts to harm Priscilla, so she’s hired a bodyguard from the Payne Protection Agency. She certainly didn’t expect Blade, nor the immediate attraction for this man, determined to protect her at any cost. During their search for answers, the smoldering attraction between them will burst into flames, and the only way to their future happiness is to find the person who means Priscilla and her unborn child harm.
I enjoyed Christmas Security by Lisa Childs very much. It’s full of danger, intrigue, mystery, and a sudden passion that neither Priscilla nor Blade ever expected. It’s well-written, engaging, emotional, and full of steam. If you enjoy a good Romantic Suspense with a believable, even relatable plot, a whodunit with red herrings tossed about, and a couple you cannot help but root for their happy future, then you’d love Priscilla and Blade’s story.
