2 Brothers + 2 Sisters + 0 Electricity = 1 Unforgettable Holiday

Casey’s got a ton of work to do over the holidays. But her sister’s stuck with a broken heart and a nonrefundable vacation for two, so Casey agrees to celebrate Christmas at a rustic Adirondack lodge—as long as she can bring her laptop and work through the festivities.

Matt’s happy to take a break from his high-pressure city job to celebrate Christmas at his off-the-grid childhood home. He and his brother are helping with their aunt’s Romance of Christmas weekend, even though the couples-only guest list means all work and no play.

When one of the “couples” unexpectedly turns out to be two sisters, Matt’s brother calls dibs on the hot one—leaving Matt to deal with a quirky, work-obsessed woman who he’s sure would rather get cozy with an electrical outlet than with him.

Good thing there’s no electricity at Dutch Gorge Lodge. Because sometimes you have to turn out the lights to see what’s right in front of you.

Read on for my thoughts on Christmas Unplugged.  No true spoilers, promise.

Please don’t judge a book by its cover or its title.  Honest.  *grin*  Christmas Unplugged is a delightful romance full of fun, laughter, love, frustration and a beautiful Christmas celebration.

When Emma sorta cons her sister, Casey into going on a Christmas vacation with her she might have neglected a few details.  Like they were driving in a blizzard.  Or that the lodge was practically in the wilderness.  Or that there might not be any electricity, just oil lamps and fireplaces where they would be spending Christmas.  For a true geek like Casey this was a nightmare beyond belief.  And… to add insult to injury the moment they arrived at the lodge Emma, of course, hooked up with one handsome brother and dumped her sister for the remainder of their vacation.  Yeah, Merry Christmas to Casey.

Since Jake and Emma took over their room it’s up to Matt to try to salvage at least sleeping arrangements for Casey..  But with the lodge full the only place is to share his cabin.  No, Casey was not having a good weekend, at all.  Guys like Matt, handsome and self-confident never looked twice at her.  So she knew that Matt was just being kind and trying to make up for his brother’s and her sister’s actions.  But, if only… well, that would never happen not her and Matt.  Or could it….?

I adored Casey.  She’s such a geek (said lovingly since I’m friends with many geeks) who just doesn’t see her own attractiveness or her value outside of her computer skills.  When Matt actually likes her and wants to spend time with her – her first reaction is anger, embarrassment and then simply resigned to being dragged along in spite of her protests.  If she could only see herself through Matt’s eyes.

Christmas Unplugged is a fun, satisfying romance of two unlikely people being perfect together – once they get past a couple obstacles, like Casey’s stubbornness.  I enjoyed this story so much.  So take a risk and try it for yourself.  If you love Christmas romances, then this one is just for you.
