Cover Description:
Bad boy Jed Hamilton is ex-special Forces and a current undercover recovery agent who’s mentally and physically tough, a lone wolf and, above all, violently allergic to commitment, permanence, and anything wedding related.
So when he learns, in the very sexy McKenna Dixon’s bridal salon, that his younger sister is getting married and wants him to be her “man of honor”, Jed wishes he was anywhere but in Cape Town. Especially now that he’ll be spending more time around the one woman who makes him consider perilous phrases like “what if” and “maybe”…
McKenna Dixon loves bad boys, but her past experience with the species has led to nothing but pain and heartbreak. Jed Hamilton is exactly the type of man she should avoid, but when a nasty incident threatens her and her daughter, Jed immediately appoints himself as their protector, even though it’s not a part of his job description.
McKenna is determined not to allow another bad boy to flip her life inside out, and Jed is determined to retain his bachelor status and to keep travelling and working. But, as they both discover, love does its best work when they are busy making other plans.
Read on for my thoughts on Claimed By The Warrior. No true spoilers, promise.
When a stalker is driving McKenna crazy with worry and annoyance, she doesn’t see any good solution except perhaps to ignore it and hope it goes away. Oh, she’s pretty sure she knows who the jerk is – but proving it is a far different story. What she doesn’t need right now is a hot, sexy, pure alpha male making himself her bodyguard and maybe more. Sure, she’s the first to admit that Jed is steamy hot and she’s been in a drought lately – but that doesn’t mean anything beyond sex. Her track record cries nothing more, and Jed is sending off no commitment vibes that can be heard a continent away. So if…when they get together it will be sexy, hot and explosive and not permanent.
Claimed By The Warrior was such an intense and fun read. Jed is so Alpha. McKenna is so not going there again. But we know they will and they do. And their relationship is as hot and steamy as Mac thought it’d be, and just as entangling as Jed feared it would be. This isn’t an intensely mysterious story – a basic suspense bad guy and a reveal, plus Jed’s sister, Leah who is getting married unexpectedly and that is giving Jed bad feelings but she’s happy so, good for her. The story was fun, engaging and McKenna’s daughter, Daisy, was totally adorable. It took her less than 5 seconds flat to have Jed wrapped around her dainty little pinky finger.
It’s a story of two people who have trouble trusting and picking the right partner for the long term. And a story of second chances at finding a love worth fighting for, worth taking a risk. Yes, there is an absolute end of the book cliffhanger… but… this story is complete, we have Jed and McKenna’s story completed with the happy ending. Look on it as a tease for another story that is sure to be coming along soon.
If you love a bad boy Alpla styled romance then Claimed by the Warrior is perfect for you. T would recommend this one for readers who enjoy their romance hot and heavy, their males strong and stubborn and their ladies independent with a need for love – add in an adorable little one and you have a great love story. indulge and enjoy.
