My Rating:  4.5 stars

Cold Case Kidnapping begins the Hudson Sibling Solutions series with an intense introductory story that brings Dahlia to HSS, hoping to find her missing sister, Rose. She knows her sister’s disappearance is a cold case, but she’s also convinced that she’s seen a photograph of Rose with a man locally, a man with ties to a cult that was thought to have been disbanded long ago.

Grant is a former Marine, now home and helping his siblings in the cold case investigation company they founded.  Years ago, their parents disappeared without a trace, and while they still look for clues and threads to pull to discover what happened to their parents, the siblings specialize in cold cases, understanding firsthand the pain of not knowing.  Grant is not only dealing with returning to civilian life, but memories of the time he served.  He’s not convinced that Dahlia has found a connection to her missing sister here, though.  That cult died out years ago, and he feels it’s an unrealistic case… but it is his turn to take the lead on a new investigation, and what he and Dahlia will discover will shatter his assumptions and bring the right woman into his life, should they take the risk of falling in love.

I, frankly, enjoy any book written by Nicole Helm.  Yet, Grant and Dahlia’s story was such a fantastic introduction to this series for me.  I cannot even imagine the desperation of these siblings when their parents disappeared from the face of the earth.  How some had to step up to care for the younger siblings, to keep them together, while mourning and worrying about not only their parents but their own lives as well.  It’s a heartbreaking, yet empowering premise, and I look forward to learning more about each of their journeys as the series continues.

I loved every aspect of Cold Case Kidnapping by Nicole Helm.  The story is intense, with an edge-of-your-seat feel to it as clues are uncovered and assumptions are proven wrong.  It’s a well-written, emotional romantic suspense that I would not hesitate to recommend.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
