A deadly global threat

Locks two women in a race against time

When Iris Knowles is recruited to restore a hacked computer system, she’s afraid the traumatic brain injury that compromised her vision will keep her from completing the job she was trained to do. But the cybersecurity expert’s first sight of scientist Rebecca Roth instantly quells her fears, and sparks fly between the two of them.

Iris and Bec both share a similar feeling of not belonging anywhere, and must now work together on a life-and-death mission. Can the two women help each other overcome their fears and stop a deadly virus from destroying humankind?

Titles in the Secure Watch series include:  Dark Web Investigation ~ Tracing Her Stolen Identity ~ Deadly Security Breach ~

This series is a spin-off of the Secure One series.  Expect to see some familiar faces, and although it’s not “necessary” to have read the earlier series to enjoy this one, I’d highly recommend both series as they are simply amazing in story, delivery, and intensity.

This is an adult 18+ story that contains language, possible violence, and/or sexual situations geared to an adult audience.

My Rating:  4.5 stars

Deadly Security Breach is the third title in Katie Mettner’s Secure Watch series, and delivers a tense, danger-filled Romantic Suspense story with a plot you’ll devour and a couple you’ll be rooting for to find their future together… once they save the world, that is.

Iris is a talented cybersecurity expert who suffered a traumatic brain injury and is worried that the results of that injury will interfere with her ability to track down a deadly virus that could have catastrophic results if not stopped.  She’s accustomed to feeling alone in a crowded room, but that will change once she meets Bec.  Rebecca (Bec) is a dedicated scientist working on stopping a virus that can only be described as world-ending.  She’s left her world behind to be her true self, and while that’s often a lonely feeling, she’s content for the most part.  The instant attraction between them when Iris and Bec meet is electrifying, and the reader does not doubt that they belong together.  But.  They have a virus to contain, a villain so vile to stop, and danger at every turn to be faced before that ultimate happy ending can be theirs.

I enjoyed Iris and Bec’s story so much.  The intensity of the danger faced kept me on edge throughout their story.  As always with a Katie Mettner novel, the descriptions of events and places put me right into the danger zone with her characters.  I loved seeing familiar faces from the Secure One series.  I immerse myself more deeply in the action when the connected world actually… well, connects in a way that makes sense and creates an even more complex feel to the story.  If you love a well-written romance full of danger, tender moments, passion, and a plot that will keep you engaged until the final word… then have I got a book for you.  I’d not hesitate to recommend this one, and cannot wait for more from this author.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley, and I sincerely thank the author or publishing house for their trust. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
