“You’re my wife…
Till death do us part.”
Dragos. I grant my wife anything she desires—except knowledge of my lethal past.
Yet the secrets I protect Cassandra from are the architect of my ruin. I’ve driven her away.
What she doesn’t realize is I won’t let her turn her back on our vows…
Cassandra. Fleeing my wealthy husband’s gilded cage—and our obsessive hunger—was a desperate, futile gesture.
Not even his enemies’ attempt on his life could stop him from tracking me down.
Injured but dangerous, Dragos only remembers my name…and that I belong to him!

Dragos’s Broken Vows is one of the best stories by Millie Adams (a pseudonym of Maisey Yates) that I’ve read in a long time, and I have A Lot of her books in my library by both pen names! I always go into her books expecting a good story, but Cassandra and Dragos’s dark, passionate romance just blew me away with its intensity and emotions.
Cassandra is a talented artist who married Dragos after a whirlwind romance. Her husband is intense, passionate, and dark in so many ways. After four years of his silence about his family or past, of feeling isolated and no longer her husband’s only obsession, Cassandra is making a bid for freedom by leaving his carefully controlled (by him) mansion and running away to Paris.
Only…Dragos is so deeply entwined in her life and heart that she can’t paint or sketch a single thing that isn’t the man she loves, but needs so much more from. She knew he’d track her down, yet she didn’t expect him to end up on her doorstep shot… and not remembering anything about his life except that she is his only safe place.
Dragos’s Broken Vows by Millie Adams is intense…and passionate…and dangerous on many levels. As Dragos and Cassandra hide from those who shot him, they’ll slowly chip away at the amnesia that is plaguing him right now. I think part of what drew me so deeply into this story is the simple fact that even as a blank slate (so to speak), Dragos comes across still as a strong, opinionated man who is trying to understand his life and why his wife ran from him. As memories slowly surface, Cassandra gets new insights about her husband’s life, things that are painful, secretive, and dangerous, yet paint a picture of an upbringing that makes the man Dragos is today more understandable.
I was captivated by Dragos’s Broken Vows by Millie Adams. It’s well-written, passionate, and a bit dangerous with all the built-up emotions Cassandra has been experiencing for years bubbling to the surface. It’s intense, and while there is a BDSM vibe at times, “Do we like it rough?” is the only really deep dive aside from mention of a collar. Hey, two consulting adults, what they do in the bedroom is up to them, IMO. I loved seeing the new, not always vulnerable, but more open Dragos by the end of their story… and that epilogue was perfect for them. In all, I loved Cassandra and Dragos’s story and would not hesitate to recommend it.
