TURN ON THE CHARM

Eternal good girl Casey Tanner moved to White Pine for a fresh start. Her mission: to finally have fun. And a fling with a reckless bad boy is the very first item on the to-do list she pretended not to make. After one long, lingering look at a sexy firefighter, Casey has found her man.

…AND TURN UP THE HEAT

Getting women into his bed has never been a problem for Abe Cameron. Letting one into his heart is an entirely different matter. But just one kiss, just one touch, just one smile from beautiful Casey has this lifelong bachelor flirting with the idea of forever. And Casey’s refusal to settle down only makes Abe more determined than ever to win her heart. Now the one woman who can’t be caught is the only one Abe can’t live without.

Read on for my thoughts on Every Little Kiss.  No true spoilers, promise.

Eventually even perpetual players will meet their match.  When Abe met Casey he hadn’t pegged her for a player herself.  And in reality she wasn’t, but she was determined to become one.  Casey was interested in remaking her life.  To become less rigid, more outgoing and to have some good old fashioned fun in her life.  It might have worked out better for her if she’d left the rules out of her newly formed life.  But some habits are impossible to break.

Casey would be perfectly happy having a designated timeframe kind of fling with Abe.  Trouble is, this man is tired of the flings in his life.  He’s ready to settle down with Casey and work on a forever together.  Casey is so not onboard with that plan.  Now a formerly dedicated player has to work his butt off convincing the one woman who could rock his world permanently that she’s willing to risk her newly desired freedom for a happy forever kind of love.

Every Little Kiss is a charming, slightly steamy at times, enjoyable story.  I really loved Abe.  He is the kind of man just about any woman would say “Yes, please.” to just about anything he wanted.  It was entertaining to watch him change his player ways.  And if I felt a little badly for him along the way that’s probably natural.  When a player changes his tune lots of uncomfortable emotions are going to rise to the surface.

Casey…oh, Casey.  I had a bit more trouble hoping for a happy ever after for her.  She is the type of character that I simply want to grab by the shoulders and give her a good shake and tell her to just wake up and stop being an idiot.  Eventually she will see what a wonderful man Abe is and the sparks that these two create are a delicious slow burn.  I warmed up to Casey eventually – but I honestly cannot say that she’s my favorite character in this series.  I believe that for me Casey is a perfect example of a character from a previous book that I didn’t like then and I’m not able to see her redeeming qualities now.  Sometimes I just cannot get past first impressions – I’m sorry, I’m human.

Yet Abe and Casey together work.  The attraction is there strong and sure throughout the story.  It’s more a matter of getting someone to see themselves differently – for both Abe and Casey.

If you enjoy an engaging love story between two stubborn people, and if you simply love a good romance then Every Little Kiss is perfect for you.

*I received an e-ARC of Every Little Kiss from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*
