Faking It for the Cameras is a delightful romance in the multi-authored series/line Passport to Paradise.  Gracie has shut herself off from any emotional entanglements.  Oh, she has her reasons, which are reasonable, for her.  Yet while trying to protect her heart from future harm, she’s missing out on so much in life.  She is passionate about keeping people safe in the water, so her job as a swim instructor is a perfect fit.  Except when she’s hired to teach Connor, an up-and-coming film actor, to swim for an upcoming role, she never could have seen how taking on that job would impact her life.

An innocent lesson in the ocean brings the paparazzi into their lives.  To deflect from the press speculation, Gracie and Connor agree to fake a relationship to throw the press off.  Neither expected to fall in love.  Now they have choices to make, for each is holding back information from the other.  The choice?  Take the risk of loving each other, secrets out in the open, or walk away from a relationship that is no longer so fake.

I enjoyed Gracie and Conner in Faking It for the Cameras.  Their story is well-written, emotional, passionate, and with just enough angst to tie it all together.  The emotional issues this couple faces aren’t insurmountable; they just need to trust each other enough to understand them.  And trust isn’t the easiest thing for either of them to grant.  Watching their emotional walls tumble was an enjoyable read.  If that sounds like your kind of contemporary romance, you’ll enjoy this one.
