Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers — but you have to know — the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.
The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts,Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s Viewand Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!
This week’s question:
Do you like fantasy or realistic books?
I’m pretty equal between the two. There is nothing like a fantasy, sci-fi or paranormal to let me escape for a few hours. But I can escape just as easily with a contemporary novel or a how-to book. Basically, if it has printed letters on it I will most likely read it.
If you’re a new follower I’d really prefer a Bloglovin’ follow – the button is over on the side bar 🙂 Thanks.
Now since there are no official feature blogs to check out, I’m going to follow our hosts idea of celebrating National Love Your Pets Day. 🙂
My home is ruled by two felines. Charlie, who is our 18 year old grey striped king of the household (very much a smaller version of Charlie in that picture of National Love Your Pet Day banner)
And I introduced Leia earlier this week on a Waiting on Wednesday post but here she is in all her Ragdoll beauty again…. my puppy-cat who loves her belly rubbed. Leia is in her terrible 2’s right now. She is the largest cat I’ve ever had weighing in at 32 pounds of solid muscle and fur. And when she lands on you… You Know It.
I prefer fantasy more but I still enjoy reading contemporary books from time to time. When I needed inspirational quotes and sorts, I pick up realistic fictions. 🙂
Danna @ A Reading Habit
I love fantasy, especially anything with a paranormal slant. I just plain love to read so I’m not too picky.
Thanks for visiting 🙂
I’m chick lit fan, but sometimes I pick some fantasy book.
Silvy @Books are my life
I’m a sucker for romance – give me a love story in any genre and I’m a happy chick.
Thanks for visiting:)
I totally agree! I love a good fantasy book! Old follower 🙂
Here’s my F&F!
Hi Tracy,
I actually sat and thought today – what would I do if I could no longer read?
And the effect that would have on me is simply too powerful for words. We take it for granted – but I do love my books 🙂
Thanks for stopping by.
I agree with your sentiment, there is nothing like an escapism to a fantastical world 🙂 Your kitties are so cute! Such a bummer I’m deathly allergic to them 🙁
Old follower! Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Sparrowhawk,
(every time I remember I should use Sparrowhawk after I hit post.. I’m sorry.)
Awww… That’s rough being allergic to cats. They are literally everywhere!
Thanks you, I do adore those fluff balls 🙂
If I couldn’t escape through reading I’d be in a sorry state of mind.
Enjoy the weekend 🙂
I love fantasy books.
Your Leia is so beautiful! I love the color of her fur.

Hi Christina,
Thanks she is a beauty. She also sheds horribly. lol I could knit a sweater a week with the fur I gather up. 🙂
I enjoy escaping into a fantasy world. They seem to get more detailed with every new book I find.
Thanks for stopping 🙂
I’m an equal reader as well. I will read whatever suits my mood. 🙂

Aww, Leia is gorgeous!! My cat’s name is Captain Han Solo and my puppy’s name is Skywalker, lol!
I love both, but if I absolutely had to choose, I’d go with fantasy! Nothing like escaping reality!
Old follower, thank you for stopping by!
Hi Pearl,
Oh how adorable – I totally approve of your choice of names 🙂 Leia got her name quite deliberately — she acts like such a Princess even as a wee kitten, now she thinks like a Queen. 😛
Escaping reality is one of the main reasons I read to begin with – so fantasy fills that need very well.
Thanks for visiting 🙂
Oh my, your cats are cute! I never had a pet. :3 I never was permitted by my parents to keep one. But, I think they did raise a fair point about me couldn’t even take care of a stray cat. I stop feeding the stray cat after a few days because I either forgot or was lazy. xD Thus, it’s probably better that I don’t have a pet.
Hi Azee,
Maybe one day that will change. 🙂 Leia is not shy about letting me know it’s time for food. She will jump up on my desk and sit on my mouse and complain loudly until I get up and fill the bowl. I am totally owned by my cats lol
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
I couldn’t agreed more. That’s exactly what I think about it, though, I’m not into how-to or self-help book, I really like any romance novel!
You cats are so cute!!

Romance is where my heart is – and I can find romance within so many genre that I’m never at a loss.
Thanks, Leia is cute and so not cuddly. lol She literally pushes on my shoulders to get away from cuddles.

Books are just a great way to escape aren’t they. I read based on my mood but fantasy is good if I want something that I can’t relate to my life at all for a total escape.

I love to dive into a book and escape the real world for awhile. There have been times when I am certain being able to do so has saved my sanity.
Such a mood reader – but as long as that mood has some romance in it, I’m good.
Thanks for visiting.
It’s great if you can work the two together nicely isn’t it?
Thanks for stopping by mine xx

It’s what I love about being able to escape into books – I can visit any world, at any time in history or fantasy and still feel right at home.
Thanks – the cats are like family. I don’t know what I’d do without either of them now.
Thanks for stopping by for a visit.
I am a Paranormal freak but I also love some great romance anything from historical to erotic so I guess both would be my answer.

I love paranormals. If I “had” to pick out one absolute favorite it would be paranormal.
I simply love to be able to escape to another world, any world, at times.
