Because this blog does not have the ability to put up GFC I would appreciate a follow through Bloglovin’. Thanks so much.
This week’s question:
Have you ever been inspired by a book character to do something? Who was the character and what was it? – Suggested by Eternity Through Pages
I can’t say “inspired to do something” but definitely been an influence on parts of my life. There is a trilogy by Nora Roberts called Three Sisters Island the novels are Dance Upon The Air (Nell), Heaven and Earth (Ripley) and Face The Fire (Mia). The three women in this series each touched me and taught me something. Nell – how to stand up to my fears and live past them – Ripley – how to not be afraid to be angry or mad, and how to control the words that spill out when I am angry – and Mia – (Mia who has more shoes in her closet then she will ever wear) – how to stand tall no matter what the situation, with dignity and grace, and also how to let go of the past in order to embrace the future. It might sound like a lot from some fictional characters – but I can definitely trace new and important reactions and decision back to this particular series.

Here’s my F&F!
They are and I re-read the trilogy at least once a year. It’s like revisiting old friends.
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
They may be fictional characters, but they were created from a real person, so they still have a lot of power on us even though they aren’t “real.”

Very true. I wonder if authors ever think of how the story they write, from their life experiences and imagination, affect their readers. I’d like to ask a few authors that – maybe some day I’ll get the chance.

I’m following you now! 🙂

Her characters always come “alive” to me. There’s a reason she’s my favorite author.
Thanks for visiting 🙂
These three women sound like admirable role models! I’ll have to pick up the series sometime!
Old follower! Thank you for stopping by!
They were amazingly written. It just happened that the three together had everything I needed. It’s a romance of course, but it’s also a paranormal in that the three women are witches fighting an ancient evil. It was well done.
Thanks for visiting 🙂
That sounds really inspiring, do check out my FF: http://bookstopcorner.blogspot.in/2015/03/feature-follow-5-favorite-inspiring.html

It’s an oddly empowering feeling when you realize that something fictional has added to your own self-growth. I expect that from self-help books not by escaping into another world.
Thanks for visiting 🙂
What a brilliant well-rounded answer. It’s interesting that a large amount of answers are about how we’ve been inspired to act differently rather than to ‘do’ something.

Thank you! I’d have to agree. I wish I had been inspired to “do” but my reading has had more of an influence on how I act or react to life. And maybe that’s inspiration’s cousin.
Thanks for visiting 🙂
I love books that teach you something about yourself, or inspire you to think about ways you can improve yourself. Great answer. New follower!

Thank you. Sometimes there are books that touch a part of us for some unknown reason and fiction becomes reality. Those are the reading moments that I cherish.
