A heart-bruised city girl. A rugged mountain loner. One Christmas blizzard that melts every defense.

Clara Bennett escapes to the Bavarian-style village of Evergreen Falls, hoping to outrun a collapsing career and a painful breakup. Instead of peace, she collides with Griffin Kane—a brooding, off-grid mountain man whose gruff charm is impossible to ignore.

Their spark flares instantly, and when a sudden blizzard traps Clara near his remote cabin, she has no choice but to accept his reluctant shelter. Firelit nights, shared chores, and accidental touches turn tension into temptation as their emotional walls begin to crumble. One near-kiss leaves them both shaken—and wanting more.

As snow deepens, so does their connection. A breathtaking kiss beneath swirling flakes exposes both desire and fear. Clara struggles to trust again, and Griffin resists opening his guarded heart, even as Christmas draws them closer.

When the storm peaks, passion finally breaks through in a steamy, unforgettable moment by the fire. But once the skies clear, reality returns: Will this spark fade with the season, or grow into something real?

Title:  His Cabin, Her Christmas
Series:  Standalone
Author:  Stephanie Tyo

My Rating:  4 stars

His Cabin, Her Christmas is a standalone title by a new-to-me author, Stephanie Tyo.  I enjoyed the way she weaves a story, and I’ll definitely be looking for more titles from the author.

Clara’s life has reached the point where she desperately needs a reset.  Her career, her romantic relationship are in tatters, shredded in ways she doesn’t know how to fix.  She’s just looking for a place to escape to for a while, and this small village seemed the perfect spot to think, to regroup, and to figure out where her life goes from here.  She never could have imagined that she’d find everything she could have hoped for combined in one off-the-grid man who, on the surface, is completely wrong for her… or so it seemed.

Griffin has his reasons for the way he exists these days.  He’s not about to give in to the sudden sparks that fly between him and Clara.  Yet an unexpected storm is about to change attitudes and lives as two people discover that exactly what one needs is often very different from what they think they want.

His Cabin, Her Christmas is well written, with enough tension to give the characters a good reason to question their attraction to each other.  It’s full of emotions from despair to absolute joy, mixed in with laughter, tears, and a chemistry that is on fire.  They are completely believable given the circumstances under which they meet.  I enjoyed their story and will seek out more titles by this author, for I like the way she weaves a believable story in an unexpected setting, creating characters I wanted to know more about and to see their happy ending become a reality.  That is a story set-up that will draw me in every time.
