Destiny’s River, Texas: A chance to begin a new life—and new loves.
Victoria “Tori” Parker has been searching since childhood for a place she and her three siblings can call home. She’s found that and more in Destiny’s River, where she put down roots, bought a bed and breakfast, and successfully ran for mayor.
Her siblings have other ideas on planting roots, but she’s determined to make Destiny’s River irresistibly livable for her family and long-term residents alike. She’s eyeing a local hot springs as a public use project—if only good-looking rancher Caden Wright would stop being stubborn and put the good of the community ahead of his property.
Caden admires Tori’s spunk, but he has a life mission, too. He promised his grandfather that he’d never change this land his family treasured. Yet that vow becomes harder to uphold as Tori’s kind heart reveals that not every woman is after his wealth.
There’s too much on the line for either of them to quit their dreams, but love has a way of fixing even the toughest Texas tangle.

Title: Home to the Cowboy’s Arms
Series: Destiny’s River #1
Author: Debra Holt
Published: January 21, 2025
Publisher: Tule Publishing
My Rating: 4.5 stars
Home to the Cowboy’s Arms is the first title in the Destiny’s River series, and brings us Tori’s and Cade’s emotion-packed romance. I have never read a Debra Holt book that I didn’t love, and this story is such a great way to start the new series. Tori and Cade are such stubborn people, both believing they are right, with little compromise to meet in the middle, at least at first.
Tori and her three siblings have gone through the foster system. As the eldest, Tori has always put her brothers and sister first, leaving herself a distant second. She’s created a home for them in Destiny’s River, bought a bed and breakfast inn, and even run for mayor (and won). Now that her siblings are grown and established in their own careers, she’s focusing on the needs of the town she proudly calls home. And she’s about to run into one equally stubborn cowboy, a former rodeo star and wealthy rancher who owns something that she believes would greatly benefit the citizens of their town… Cade disagrees, and the battle of wills is on.
Home to the Cowboy’s Arms by Debra Holt is well-written, emotional, and witty, with banter that often gave me a chuckle as neither Cade nor Tori knows how to back down from anything. Watching their romance unfold was a delightful journey, and I’m looking forward to their siblings’ stories to be told. If you love an engaging, emotional, fun romance full of banter and sibling shenanigans, then this one is perfect for you.
