My Rating: 4.5 stars
Italian Tycoon to Remember is a standalone title, one that will quickly capture your imagination and your heart as we meet Freya and Nico, a couple with an interesting history… that only one of them remembers.
I can’t imagine what it would feel like, emotionally, to have the previous five years wiped from my memory. I do know how one second can change everything, from my own fall where I broke my tailbone, and my life changed. But my memory, that’s such a definition of who I am, and to lose that is unimaginable, even for a short period of time. I have to say that Justine Lewis did an excellent job of showing us how that impacted Freya and Nico in both large ways and small nuances. What are we without our memories?
Freya awakened in unfamiliar surroundings… to discover that she’d lost the previous five years of her life due to an accident. The memories might still be there, but there are also no guarantees from her doctors that she’ll remember everything. Some things she knows without a doubt… other things have her questioning everything, even her friendship/relationship with Nico.
I enjoyed Freya and Nico’s story so much. It’s not only well-written, but the emotions (so many) just leap off of the page straight into your heart. Yes, they have some issues to be dealt with, and it’s not going to be an easy journey, but it is one that will capture your imagination and, perhaps, have you wondering “What would I do if I lost five years of my life?” If that sounds like a story that you’d enjoy, then this one is a perfect match for you.
