BE ENOUGH TO HEAL OLD WOUNDS?
Rob Tyler thought he’d moved on, but when fate drops a second chance with his first love right in his path, his feelings rush back stronger than ever. Rob is determined to give Jordan the future they should have had years ago, but making up for past mistakes isn’t easy.

Read on for my thoughts on Jordan’s Return.  No true spoilers, promise.

Jordan has returned to the Virginia shore for a month of recuperation and relaxation with her two sons.  The last few months have brought changes to all of their lives, and now she needs to time alone with her kids to start putting together their new lives.  Jordan has recently left an abusive relationship, one where her now ex-husband tried to kill her in a car accident.  The resulting injuries and the divorce have upended Jordan’s life and she’s simply looking for a bit of time to heal and concentrate on her children and their futures.

The last person Jordan expected to run into was her high school sweetheart, the boy she caught doing something he had no business doing – and it drove her right into the now ex-husband’s arms.  She and Rob have a history, after all she’d expected to marry this boy and have his children in a happy ever after fairy tale ending… that didn’t work out quite that way.  Now Rob is acting like the past never happened, and that their future is a foregone conclusion now that they’ve found each other again.

Men.  Sometimes they are so clueless.  If they weren’t so cute it’d be annoying.

Rob and Jordan are not the same  people who were once in young love.  They each have issues, both past and present.  Jordan is healing from not only physical injuries, but emotional ones as well.  And Rob cannot charge in on his white steed and sweep everything away in a moment of knightly valor.  They need to deal with the reality of today, and build their future on today, not the past.  The journey to their future is an enjoyable ride along with this charming couple.  Second chances do come along, it’s up to us to make them work this time around.

I enjoyed reading Samantha Chase’s debut novel once again.  It simply proves that she is an author that from the beginning knew how to capture our attention and our emotions.  If you enjoy solid, second chance love stories with realistic people who have real life issues, then Jordan’s Return is a story you’ll want to pick up.

*I received an e-ARC of Jordan’s Return from the publisher,Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*
