Josephine (Josie) Miller lives for Christmas, the lights, the carols, the cocoa-fueled chaos of it all. As Magnolia Springs’ holiday-obsessed librarian, she believes there’s no problem a little tinsel can’t fix… until a sudden snowstorm leaves her stranded in the mountains two weeks before Christmas.
Enter Weylan Frost, a reclusive, widowed, grumpy mountain hermit with eyes like glaciers and a voice that could freeze the sun. He’s everything Josie isn’t: cold, quiet, and definitely not interested in her gingerbread-level cheer. But when he rescues her from the blizzard and shelters her in his hidden cabin, sparks start to melt the ice between them.
What Josie doesn’t know is that Weylan isn’t entirely human. He’s the guardian of Magnolia Spring’s winter wardline, a Yeti shifter bound to protect the mountains from storms and worse. And when she crashes into his world, her warmth begins to tether him to the one thing he’s been losing year after year… his humanity.
Snowed in together, one grump and one sunshine find that sometimes love is the strongest magic of all. Because sometimes fate doesn’t just find you… It claims you.
Kissed on Christmas is a complete standalone. You don’t need to read the other books in the series to enjoy it, though fun cameos from other characters will pop up along the way.

Title: Kissed on Christmas
Series: Fated for the Holidays #4
Author: Reina Everhart
Published: October 30, 2025
My Rating: 4.5 stars
Kissed on Christmas is part of the Fated for the Holidays series. It’s a short standalone title and can be read on its own without any problem, yet you’ll probably want to go back to the beginning if you haven’t read the series, because Josie and Weylan will draw you into this world quite easily. (Cameos by the couples in the first three stories show up and tempt you to want to know their stories as well.) I love that kind of “a part of a series” that invites me to explore a world that is fascinating and well-written.
Josie is the town’s librarian, an upbeat woman who radiates sunshine, and is, perhaps, the complete description of the Christmas spirit, for she wraps the magic and wonder of the season around herself (and others) like a warm, cozy cloak. On the way to the cabin she prefers to spend Christmas at, Josie will be caught in a fierce blizzard, lose her way, and find herself rescued by a grumpy hermit… who just happens to be the guardian of these mountains, and a yeti shifter.
Weylan is the epitome of a loner, a grumpy soul who is wrapped up in grief and duty. A man who is slowly, steadily losing his sense of humanity and the wonder of life itself. As a yeti shifter, Weylan has been given the task of protecting these mountains from storms and worse. The last thing he wanted to do was shelter Josie during the storm at his hidden sanctuary. Yes, he had to rescue her from the storm, of course he did, but that doesn’t mean that he didn’t resent her presence in his cabin, her constantly happy chatter, or the fact that she’s melting a heart frozen in time and duty.
I enjoyed Kissed on Christmas by Reina Everhart very much. It blends myth, magic, and healing together in a way that is emotionally filled with sadness and laughter… and possibility. If you love Paranormal or Shifter Romance, a definite grumpy/sunshine couple, and a well-told story, then Josie and Weylan’s story would be perfect for you.
