An unexpected homecoming brings another chance at love.
For two years, mountaineer Max Butler was presumed dead after a tragic climbing accident in Peru…until his return to his small town of Opportunity, Alaska. But now a traumatic brain injury keeps him from remembering his former life and who he left behind—including physical therapist Hayley Morgan.
Heartbroken after Max chose his mountaineering dreams over her, Hayley is determined to guard her heart against him, even as he steps in to help her with babysitting duties for his infant sister.
As Max slowly regains fragments of his past and buried feelings resurface, can Hayley convince him to stay…for a second chance at happiness?

Lost Alaskan Memories is the second title in the Opportunity, Alaska series, this time featuring Max, who is returning home after being missing for almost two years on a mountain climbing adventure, and Hayley, the woman he left behind. As a physical therapist, she understands part of what he’s experiencing now, the physical aspects, yet his brain injury has practically wiped her from his memories. Should he regain his memories of her, will he realize how putting his mountain climbing dreams ahead of her intense love for him broke her heart into tiny, unhealable pieces? And is she willing to take the chance that instead of staying… he’ll walk away to his next adventure once again?
I enjoyed Lost Alaskan Memories so much. Our memories are what make us… Well, us. When Max lost all memories of the past, it further destroyed Hayley. Yes, intellectually she understood brain trauma, temporary (hopefully) amnesia, but emotionally she’s struggling with knowing that Max doesn’t remember what they shared, why he ran away to that fateful mountain climbing adventure, or if she can trust him with her heart again.
Lost Alaskan Memories by Heidi McCahan is a well-written, emotional, engaging Christmas Romance with characters you’ll enjoy rooting for to find their eventual happy-ever-after ending. If that sounds like your kind of holiday romance, then you’ve found the perfect fit with Hayley and Max. Enjoy, give yourself the gift of a lovely romance this year.
