Read on for my thoughts on Montana Wild.  No true spoilers, promise.

Sometimes stories will touch an emotion, perhaps mean more because of those emotions that it draws out of you.  I found Montana Wild to be one of those stories.

It seems that Jamie’s life is hitting rock bottom.  An abusive marriage behind her, but still a constant threat.  The deaths of two people who mattered in her world.  Right now escape was the only sane thought running through her mind.  So what if she had no clue how to function in the wilds of Montana, it couldn’t be any further from the nightmare and heartache that New York city had brought into her life.  So she took a chance and made the jump – now she simply had to survive.

It’s funny how one event can change everything.  How one child in danger could set your feet on a path to a future you could never have imagined.  But that’s all it took to bring that one right man into her life.  A man who could heal the past and offer something wonderful for the future – if only she could be brave enough to reach out and hold on tight.  With Kevin, Jamie has a chance at happiness – until a danger from her past rides into town hellbent on destroying anything good she’s found.  Love is strong, but will it be the holding kind or the sacrifice that steals her love away?

I don’t know what it is about one fictional couple vs another that makes them stick in our minds and hearts.  Perhaps it’s some memory or reaction of our own lives that makes them a perfect for us.  But no matter, Kevin and Jamie’s romance is solid and believable.  I can understand why Jamie made the choices she made, don’t agree with them all, but I do understand them.

Montana Wild is an emotional ride, one that many will find lingering on their minds long after the final page is closed.  Be ready to feel thouse emotions bubbling up inside of you – love, anger, fear, joy.  It’s not going to be an easy journey, but it is so well worth it.

I’d highly recommend Montana Wild for any romance reader who enjoys those stories that go a bit deeper, that test our emotions and wring them dry before giving us a happy ever after.

*I received an e-ARC of Montana Wild from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*
