My Christmas Billionaire is the eighth title in the Billionaires After Dark series, this time bringing us a delectable and unexpected Christmas Romance between a rather uptight and workaholic Kate, and the son of the store/business owner, Ryder, who is not exactly what Kate had always believed him to be.

Being dumped on Christmas Day by her long-distance boyfriend was not on her gift list this holiday season, for certain.  In an effort to soothe her feelings, Kate did what she always does in a crisis… turn to her work.  Even though there is a massive snowstorm predicted to descend upon Manhattan shortly, Kate will trudge through the winter weather in order to lose herself in the comfort of work for a few hours.  Surely, she can gauge how close the storm is and return home to her apartment before the worst of it hits… or maybe not.

Ryder has returned to the city on Christmas Day and is in almost desperate need of a gift for his daughter.  His ex-wife had suggested a Barbie doll.  Well, he’s on the board, his father owns the store, so, of course, he’d just let himself in and purchase the gift and get out as quickly as possible… hmm, no, not going to happen, Ryder.

When Kate hears a noise in the building that should have been empty, she investigates and discovers that Ryder has bumped over a Barbie display.  As they exchange heated words, the worst possible outcome will happen as the lights go out, Kate is terrified of the dark, and they are now trapped in the empty store with a winter storm howling outside the doors.  Not how either envisioned spending Christmas Day.

Yet, in the darkness, the impromptu survival situation gives Kate and Ryder the chance to see beyond the surface of each other… and those discoveries are going to be hot, emotional, and surprising.  I had such a good time with My Christmas Billionaire by Heidi Rice.  A bit of sass, definitely sexy, with more than one surprise in store for this couple.  If you like your Christmas Romances on the hot and spicy side, then Ryder and Kate will provide all the heat and the feels that you could possibly wish for this holiday season.
