Snowbound by fate and guided by faith, can two strangers find comfort, courage, and perhaps a Christmas miracle that neither saw coming?

When Nora Patterson rear-ends Reverend Rock Peters’ SUV on a snowy mountain road, her Christmas Eve takes an unexpected turn—from lonely to life-changing. Stranded together in an old cabin while a blizzard rages outside, Nora discovers the handsome minister is kind, steady, and far too easy to talk to. She’s spent the year missing her mother and praying for someone to share Christmas with—never imagining that the answer to her prayers might come that night.

Rockford Peters had long ago made peace with spending his holidays alone, serving others while quietly yearning for someone to come home to. Then Nora literally crashes into his life, bringing warmth and laughter into a heart he thought had stopped hoping.

But when the snow clears, will love stay—or melt away with the morning light?

Titles in the Falls Mountain series include:  Falling for Grace ~ The Christmas Nanny ~ The Heartbreaker ~ Star Crossed ~ Not This Christmas ~ Convince My Heart ~

This is a no-spice (light spice) romance, perhaps with closed-door or fade-to-black scenes. Tension and kisses might be involved 🙂

Title:  Not This Christmas
Series:  Falls Mountain #5
Author:  Maddie James
Published:  Reissue
My Rating:  4.5 stars

Not This Christmas is the fifth title in the Falls Mountain series; this is a reissue of the original title.  While I will always recommend reading a series in order, if at all possible, unfortunately, for me, it wasn’t possible this time; however, I do intend to go back to the second title in this series to pick up the rest of this series, as I’m really enjoying this community, as well as the author’s writing.

Who would have ever thought that rear-ending a car during a snowstorm would lead to finding their perfect partner in life?  Certainly not Rock or Nora on that snowy night!  Each had envisioned their lives far differently, not this sudden spark of attraction, not the feeling that they weren’t sheltering in place with a stranger, but comfortable knowing that there was someone special with them during this emergency.  Life is often strange, especially when fate or faith makes sure that the right person is in the exact right place to change lives, for the better, forever.  This was the impression I got while enjoying Nora’s and Rock’s unexpected romantic adventure.

Their story is well-written and emotional, while allowing imagination to run free with the “what if” scenarios.  What if this really could be love?  What if someone could accept me just as I am?  What if I don’t turn away but stay and fight for something, someone special?  Aren’t those the thoughts of any of us who haven’t yet met that certain someone who could be their future… when we believed we’d be alone for all time?  That was the joy I felt while reading Not This Christmas.  The possibilities that were presented, the human-ness of feeling alone, and wanting more but afraid to trust, to risk, or even to have faith that real love was waiting for them… with strangers during a slight car accident, that drew me into their story and kept me there from start to finish.

Sometimes you just have to believe in possibilities, perhaps in chance or fate or faith… to find exactly what one is hoping for.  If that sounds like your kind of Romance, then you’d love Not This Christmas by Maddie James.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the author or the author’s team via Booksprout, and I sincerely thank them for their trust. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
