He’s the grumpy cowboy foreman.  I’m the city girl who inherited this ranch from my father.

How the hell did we end up almost kissing in the barn?

I didn’t come back to Painted Sky Ranch to fall for the Casanova cowboy who’s been glaring at me since I rolled up in my SUV.

Cash Bennett is all growl, grit, and maddening control.  The same boy who made my life hell in school is now a broad-shouldered man, very good with a rope—and very bad at keeping his hands to himself.

I have one year to stay here or lose my father’s inheritance.  Which means working side-by-side with the one man who doesn’t want me here.

I have to decide between this steaming hot cowboy or going back to the big city.

We fight. We ride. We kiss.

And somewhere between teaching my daughter to ride and defending me at a rodeo, he goes from impossible to irresistible.

Then I uncover the truth about who he really is—and what he’s been hiding from me all along.

Turns out, I inherited more than a ranch.  I inherited the one man with an attitude…. who could take it all… or wreck me for every man after him.

This is an adult 18+ story that contains language, possible violence, and/or sexual situations geared to an adult audience.

My Rating:  4.5 stars

Ranch Enemies is an engaging, steamy, enemies-to-lovers romance between teenage rivals, Avery and Cash.  Years have passed since their last encounter.  Avery moved to the big city, had her daughter, Emmy, and tried her best to forget anything about the ranch or why she’d left.  When her father dies, her inheritance is assumed to be the ranch, but only if she lives there for one year… with Cash right there in her face.

Avery and Cash have memories of the past to be dealt with, issues that both have buried under lock and key, and this unexpected attraction that sparks between them, in spite of their efforts to ignore it.  Trouble is that there is more that Cash isn’t saying, and that might change everything.

I enjoyed Ranch Enemies by Olivia Kay very much.  It’s a well-written, emotional, and steamy story that quickly drew me in and held my attention until the end.  The characters are believable, the tensions high, and if they take the risk of trusting each other, they will gain far more than they ever expected.  I had fun here, and I’ve definitely a new-to-me author’s work to explore.  If you love an enemies-to-lovers romance, with a couple you’ll be rooting for to find their future together, then this is a perfect fit for you.
