An agent for the Afterworld’s Bureau of Investigation, Ben Parker spent decades undercover on earth, searching for the wife he left behind when he died.

Just when he decides to give up hope, and move on with his existence, he learns his soul mate was found. Now, reviewing her case file, he understands what she endured those years without him.

More importantly, he knows what the future has in store for her… but there’s nothing he can do to change it.

Read on for my thoughts on Aftershock.  No true spoilers, promise.

Aftershock is an extremely short read – actually, it’s more of an introduction to The Afterworld Saga and its beginning novel, Aftermath.

We meet Ben Parker at a time when he has just been told that his wife’s soul has been located.  As he watches images of her life, both when first meeting him and then her life after his death, Ben is saddened at what will be waiting for her in her next life.  She has transitioned and she will face much hardship ahead.  Ben intends to return to earth and watch over her – he cannot lose her again.

There really isn’t much to “review” about this introduction – it is a prequel, set up novella for the next novel.
