Getting even.
One step at a time…

Maddie Kingston just walked away from everything in order to take over her family’s struggling shoe business. And she’s in some serious trouble. The majority of the company’s shares have been bought out by none other than Maddie’s ex-boyfriend, self-made billionaire Nick Holter. Now Maddie needs his help…even if it means buying Nick from a charity bachelor auction.

After the Kingstons destroyed his grandfather’s career, Nick vowed to take over their company. He’s inches from victory when he finds himself bought and paid for…by his sexy ex-girlfriend who’s hell-bent on saving her family’s company. Between their families’ feud and their own unfinished business, tempers – and emotions – run hot. Too hot.

Because kissing with the enemy is a guaranteed shoe-in for trouble.

Read on for my thoughts on Heart and Sole.  No true spoilers, promise.

A family feud, a second chance at the love of your life, toss in some amazing and crazy relatives, a hostile takeover, and a charity event that will change everything – and you have the delightful story contained within the covers of Heart and Sole.

I adored this charming story.  After all, it’s about shoes!  Okay, well maybe not exactly about shoes but they definitely were a major player in this novel.  Women have a love hate relationship with shoes, and in a way that same idea is part of this story.  How could the man Maddie cared about years ago be the same man determined to destroy her family’s business.  It just made no sense.  Romeo and Juliet was a made up story – Family Feud is a game show… how does that equate to something their grandfathers did justify destroying her family right now?  It makes no effing sense.  But Maddie has no time to ponder how her family got to this point – now she has to save their business and that means taking on Nick, again.

Nick was so close to grabbing the revenge he had so carefully orchestrated.  And here comes Maddie to the rescue.  Even more beautiful than he remembered, definitely more determined and now she wants his help in saving the company he intends to grind into dust.  Just perfect.  Who knew that setting himself up to be bought for charity would lead to this?

Heart and Sole is a fun, charming second chance love story.  If you are in the mood for an enjoyable, believable love story then you should be checking out this one.  Perfect for readers who can’t get enough of a second chance.

*I received an e-ARC of Heart and Sole from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*
