Story Blurb:
Certain individuals might consider Lady Amelia Pembroke a managing sort of female, but truly, most people would be lost without her help. Why, the latest on-dit is that rakish Viscount Sheffield is canceling the fête of the year because he hasn’t time for silly soirees. He doesn’t need time—he needs her!
When a flash of lightning destroys the venue for his family’s annual Christmas ball, Lord Benedict Sheffield intends to enjoy a relaxing holiday for once. But after twelve days of beguiling Lady Amelia’s guerrilla tactics, he’s up to his cravat with tinsel . . . and tumbling head over heels in love.
Read on for my thoughts on The Viscount’s Christmas Temptation. No true spoilers, promise.
This the the prequel to Erica Ridley’s series Dukes of War (as of today’s date of 2-26-15 it was still in the Free Books for Kindle area – that will obviously change over time so go now. *grin*)
What an absolutely delightful introduction to this new series. Lady Amelia is almost a (gasp) spinster at the grand old age of 29. In her perfectly logical, constantly managing, always practical mind there is only one thing that needs to happen before her birthday, the day after Christmas, she must find herself a husband. And where better than at the seventy-fifth annual Christmas ball at the Sheffield’s.
Since lightning has put a stop to that annual affair, Lady Amelia puts her managing and planning mind to work to ensure that the ball goes off without a hitch. If only Lord Benedict would co-operate.
I spent the majority of my time reading this very short novella with a smile on my face. The story of Lady Amelia and Lord Benedict was just so charming and fun. I absolutely loved it and I see no reason why you would not too. Go and pick it up for yourself – and get ready for a truly entertaining, fun series to begin.
