Reckless, bad boy Cajun . . .
With a hurricane closing in on Temptation, Louisiana, Michelle Thurston fails to convince her stubborn grandmother to leave her home on the bayou. Sheriff Gator Landry arrives by boat, hell-bent on forcing the elderly recluse to evacuate. He is stunned to find Michelle, who was just 16 years old when he courted her one steamy summer.
Now, at 32, Michelle comes face-to-face with the man whose kisses tempted her to lose control, only this time there is no place to run. Although Gator is not about to leave the two women defenseless, Michelle can’t help but wonder if he is more dangerous to her than anything the storm can do.
Read on for my thoughts on Welcome to Temptation. No true spoilers, promise.
Welcome to Temptation is a wonderful second chance story. We don’t often get that second chance, when one arrives we need to take full advantage of it.
The last person Michelle expected to show up at her grandmother’s home was Gator. Seeing him again brought back such painful, sad memories as well as the old emotional tingles that Gator always caused when he was near. They were teenagers back then, now adults in their 30’s can they survive this hurricane with their hearts intact? Or will they finally find their happily ever after, years later?
I am a lover of second chance stories. Like everyone else, I’d love a do-over or two in my own life. So when two people, who obviously need to be together, get their chance to “do over” their teen romance I’m a happy reader.
I enjoyed discovering this couple. There were misunderstandings in the past, missed messages, and let’s be honest – they were teens then, and a decade plus time difference between what they were then and what they could be now is huge. Man, if only I knew back then what I know now – life might have been different. Just sayin’.
The incoming hurricane adds tensions and perhaps heightens the responses of Gator and Michelle, but it’s a wonderful backdrop to the feeling of getting things right in this moment because who knows what will happen next. I would recommend this novel without hesitation. Looking for a reunion, second chance love story? Then this one is a perfect choice. Check it out and enjoy seeing teenage love come full circle into adulthood.
*I received an e-ARC of Welcome to Temptation from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*
~What you, the reader, always must remember is this simple truth. Any review is just one person’s opinion. You might feel the same or totally different. The only way to know for certain if any novel is right for you – is for you to read it. This was my opinion of this particular book.~
