Cover Description:
Tate Stephens, the high school principal, begrudgingly agrees to play Scrooge in the school Christmas play. Tate is irritated that Charity Fletcher, his nephew’s teacher and director of the play, chose his handicapped nephew for the part of Tiny Tim. Didn’t she find it cruel to typecast his nephew that way? Can the school play be a success, or will Tate become the Scrooge who wouldn’t change and spoils Christmas?
Charity Fletcher is inspired by how precocious, outgoing and sweet Matthias Reeves is in spite of his bone disease. His over-protective uncle, Tate, on the other hand, can be quite infuriating. She reluctantly gives Tate a role in the school play so that he can make sure that Matthias is safe. Charity hopes that Uncle Tate will make a similar transformation as Scrooge in their rendition of the play. If Matthias is lucky, perhaps his teacher and uncle can find true love with a happily ever after ending.
Read on for my thoughts on Scrooge Falls In Love. No true spoilers, promise.
Scrooge Falls In Love is a delightful tale of Tate, a high school principal and Charity, a high school teacher… and a Christmas play that will change lives.
Tate perhaps has reason for his stern, serious, never smile attitude. Maybe. But his overprotective attitude toward his nephew, Matt, has reached the overbearing stage. Yes, there is being protective – and there is being smothering. Tate is well situated in the latter. When not only Matt but his teacher begin to take Tate to task for his ways, Tate begins to see himself through other people’s eyes.
And if maybe there are dreams of certain Ghosts showing him things he’d rather not see… then he keeps that to himself.
Charity has seen her own portion of heartache. And when Tate begins to do some old fashioned courting, she doesn’t hesitate to find a second chance at finding happiness..
I enjoyed Scrooge Falls In Love very much. A lighthearted romance with a definite message, this novel will touch your heart this Christmas season. Can the past really haunt the future? Yes, but only if we allow it. Enjoy this short, fun and enjoyable tale of romance.
I was able to find this novel both in a boxed set and individually through the Kindle Unlimited plan. That may or may not apply at this date, but check it out in case.
