Cover Description:
Noah Drake was that guy–the one always on the lookout for his next adrenaline high, so it was no surprise when he took off across the world, seeking adventure as a travel writer. But one thing he could never escape was Piper Bellini, the girl who got away–the girl he let get away, a fact he’s never let himself forget.
When he returns to Echo Lake to see if there’s any chance the flame between them can be rekindled, he never expects to spend the night holed up with Piper in a roadside diner while a blizzard rages outside. It’s exactly the kind of situation that sent Piper running years ago. But this time, Noah may have been handed a Christmas miracle, and he intends to make all of his and Piper’s wishes come true.
Read on for my thoughts on Snowflake Wishes. No true spoilers, promise.
Eventually we outgrow the need for dangerous situations as a way of life. Al least Noah eventually did. He’d needed the adrenaline rush and Piper needed to know he was safe. Two people who loved each other but simply could not make their different lifestyles and reactions to Noah’s need for dangerous situations merge with each other. Eventually Piper walked away. There was no simple about it, it was painful to do but for her own sanity she could not watch the man she loved risk his life over and over. So for seven long years Noah and Piper went their separate ways.
Until the day that Noah returned to Echo Lake. They might have a second chance to make their love for each other work – if Piper can be convinced that Noah really is willing to give up his need to put himself in a dangerous situation. It might take a snowstorm for them to finally realize that their love is worth fighting for.
I enjoyed Snowflake Wishes. It’s a short read with a charming second chance at love story. It also sets up the continuation of the Echo Lake series nicely. The spark between Noah and Piper was obvious throughout the story. The fact that this couple loved each other was obvious, the need for each to understand the other and find a way to compromise for the sake of that love is the charm of this story.
I would recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a Christmas feel story, a couple that needs to work out their differences and simply an overall charming story to enjoy this holiday season.
*I received an e-ARC of Snowflake Wishes from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*
