Stop Treating Me Like a Footnote is the fourth title in the Begging for a Second Chance series.  When I requested this title, I hadn’t read anything by this author, and I’m always on the lookout for new-to-me authors, and Roselin Brown did not disappoint.  I’ve since gone back and read the earlier titles in this series (those reviews will be up soon), and I am floored by the emotional intensity of those stories.  Yes, they may be set in the world of the rich in money or power, but they’re also full of the emotional situations we all find ourselves in at different times in our lives… from both the woman’s and the man’s past or point of view.  Emotional trauma isn’t gender exclusive.

Ava and Johansen’s story is deeply emotional, touches on a loss that no couple should ever have to face, and pulled every possible emotion from me, whether it was sorrow, anger, or satisfaction at the conclusion of their story.  This couple invites us into the most personal, devastating loss either has ever known, and allows us to watch their difficult journey to rediscover the love that they started with, and the hard choices that had to be made in order to save their relationship… that second chance that finally brings the happiness they had always deserved.  Their story is well-written, emotional, and engaging, and it holds back not a single punch in the ways someone’s excuse or good intentions backfired spectacularly.  I was easily swept up in Stop Treating Me Like a Footnote, and would not hesitate to recommend it to any reader who loves a well-defined love story, with characters who have flaws but address them to the point where change and a true second chance are possible.
