Cover Description:
The youngest son of the Woodley clan, Gabriel has been obsessed with bringing his missing twin sister home since she disappeared over two years ago. His drive has forced him to block out all else, including any feelings he may have for the beautiful Juliet Gray. But when she is brought to London by Gabriel’s mother, avoiding the desire she inspires becomes impossible.
Juliet never wanted to come to London in the first place, especially since she knows she won’t be able to avoid Gabriel, who has been both confusing and drawing her from the moment they met. But to give her father a chance at happiness, she’ll stay in town. When Gabriel asks for her help in finding his sister, explosive secrets will be spilled and long suppressed longings will overflow. But will their search bring them love or expose them to a danger that could destroy all they’ve built?
Read on for my thoughts on Tempted. No true spoilers, promise.
Tempted brings us further along in the underlying story that is the search for Claire, Gabriel’s missing twin sister. His annoyance that other siblings have found love and happiness while their sister is out there in the world somewhere knows no bounds. And his behavior often leans more on the “he’s an ass” side of desperation.
Juliet is the daughter of Gabriel’s mother’s former childhood crush. She is the village healer and a commoner. While their parents have their flirtations and possible matchmaking going on, Juliet and Gabriel will be pulled together in the search for Claire. And perhaps find each other as well.
I have to admit that I adore rule breakers. I do. I will always fall for and root for the bad boy. And while Gabriel isn’t quite that, he certainly is surly, annoying and a total nerd. His obsession with finding his sister is all that drives him now – until he and Juliet combine efforts in the search. Some may question paring a commoner with a member of the ton – but if you consider history, it really isn’t all that unusual. Love happens, and those that can afford to follow their hearts did just that,, no matter the consequences or society’s opinion.
I enjoyed this addition to The Wicked Woodleys series very much. More concentrated on the search for Claire, yet the romance, and the sparks flying between Juliet and Gabriel made it a fun, hot and steamy love story.
If you have followed the series, or simply love Regency and Historical Romance, this would be a story I would recommend.
