Chloe had no intention of finding a completely fake, pretend girlfriend for the arrogant alpha shifter, Kieran.  She believed in love and truly mated love and to set that belief aside in order to keep a client just grated on her nerves.  Unfortunately for Chloe, her boss had other ideas.  When absolutely none of the females she’d tried to match him up with worked – she was forced to take on the role of temporary mate herself.  She was not a happy witch.

Kieran has no belief in love, mates nor happy ever afters.  He did however believe in the power of his wealth, and had no problem simply buying this pretend mate or maybe rent might be a better term since he intended to return her as soon as possible.  His intention is to pull the wool over the eyes of the shifters at the retreat – maybe if they believed his mate thing was taken care of they’d back off their political moves.  Kieran hadn’t really counted on the attraction for the fiery, stubborn, beautiful witch he chose as his temporary mate… perhaps that status could be changed.

The Alpha’s Temporary Mate was an intriguing and seductive story.  At first these two were like oil and water – the witch and the shifter.  But fate doesn’t care about the details and this couple was obviously meant for each other.  Someone just had to get them to accept that simple fact.  Chloe wasn’t intimidated by Kieran and gave as good as she got from him.  If he thought she was going to back down and be a docile pretend girlfriend he was very mistaken.  Kieran is one stubborn alpha, just because they have a scorching hot sexual attraction doesn’t mean that he’s giving in to the mate thing – or so he tells himself.  While this couple is fighting their attraction pack politics is trying to make this whole mate situation fall to pieces.  It’s up to Chloe and Kieran to save each other for the long haul.

I enjoyed this story very much and would definitely recommend it for any reader who loves paranormal romance and hot, stubborn shifters who meet their match in a fiery witch.
