The Cowboy’s Christmas Confession is the first story in the A Cowboy for Christmas Collection, introducing us to Karina and Trey, along with Trey’s adorable daughter, Violet.  First off, Violet is the star of this lovely romance, this sweet little girl who adores glitter in any form will steal not only every scene she’s in, but your heart as well.  Although part of a Christmas Collection, their romance can be read as a standalone, but you’ll want to check out the other stories in this Christmas Collection.

Trey is a widower, still deeply grieving the death of his wife.  He’s gruff, focused on his ranch and his daughter.  For Violet, he’d hang the moon from her bedroom ceiling if it gave her joy.  He’s become a recluse, stand-offish to outsiders, yet, for his daughter, he’ll lower those walls just enough to give her what she sincerely wants, but hesitates to ask for… a birthday party, with all the glitter imaginable.

Enter Karina, who is visiting a relative nearby.  A party planner by trade, hurt by love, she’s in town to heal a bit, maybe even get a fresh start from a past that haunts her.  She’s been hired to give Violet the glitter party to overshadow any other glitter party ever imagined.  She and Karina will discover they are kindred souls, with a love of glitter, bonding them together.  What neither Karina nor Trey expected was the attraction between them, their walls cracking just enough to give a glimpse of what might be their future, should they take a few risks… and the past stays where it belongs, in the rear view mirror.

I enjoyed The Cowboy’s Christmas Confession by Debra Chapoton so much.  There’s just enough suspense to keep me on my toes, wondering what is in Karina’s past that could harm the relationships she’s developing with Trey and Violet.  I adored little Violet; she’s the glue in so many ways in Karina’s and Trey’s developing relationship.  This couple simply fits together so well.  They’re believable, relatable even, and their love story will touch your heart as you watch healing take place for them both.
